GAS BBQ for baking

GAS BBQ for baking

My TGF has a typical Thai outdoor kitchen and one of those electric round oven which
is not very good for baking cakes etc...
I was wondering has anyone ever baked cakes, cookies in a Gas BBQ equipped with temperature control ?
How was it? Any particular gas BBQ model to recommend !!
Your Suggestions, comments, solutions are welcome.
Thanks much appreciated.

Those electric round ovens are convection ovens and cook food more quickly than conventional ovens. A lower temp is required for what the recipe calls for.
The Rule of Thumb

The general rule while following recipes is to decrease the temperature by about 25 degrees from what a recipe calls for. The way to best learn is to just start using it and to monitor the results and then adjust temperatures and time accordingly.

Quick fire BBQ are the way to go ,in fact Ive just ordered one of those gas fired ovens ,
very happy with the process and also went out to the manufacturing factory to see firsthand the quality and superior workmanship for myself.

cant wait for the oven to arrive!
