Good for you Phil! Back where I come from in the southern US of A, an expression has surfaced which is being passed all around now which sums up what you've said. Referring to the wife and the environment in the household, it goes like this: "if Momma's not happy...ain't nobody happy"! Sooooooooooooo true...and conversely so as well.
