Golf Anyone?

Postby Charlieb » January 24, 2008, 3:14 am

I will be arriving in Udorn on Feb 8 for about a month's stay. I will have my clubs and would suely like to play several times. I still have my IGA card from last time. 8)

I would appreciate anyone that would be willing to let me tag along. I will be at the Irish Clock. I will get a phone when I get there.

Charlie, if you have a mobile phone with you, it will probably be much cheaper just to buy a "pay as you go" Thai Sim Card (and make sure you keep your US Sim Card in a safe place).

Might be wise to point out....
providing the phone is un-locked to take a thai sim card, if not with phones now as cheap as 1300baht might be another option.

Charlie, members of the other society, UGS, meet at Sri Thani every Friday for a Texas Scramble.

Your more than welcome to join us as long as you have a single figure handicap.

Only joking about handicap :D

Charlieb, There's plenty of golf in Udon and you will be more than welcome to join us. I've belonged to to the IGA and UGS but currently limit my play with UGS because it's a much larger organization and has a much longer tenure with Udon golfers. Our weekly play date is Monday and several members play 3 days/week including the scramble at Sri Thani on Fridays. Most of us don't play on Sat or Sun. because of the number of Thais on the courses but the rest of the week is ours. You can find the annual schedule at many of the farang hang-outs. For myself, golf is the primary reason I live in Thailand and once I get too old to play, I hope they just bury me.
