Good Vientiane hotel on the Mekong

Coming to Udon again in early April and planning to pop over to Vientiane for a couple of days.

Looking for a central mid range hotel, ideally overlooking the Mekong. Considering either Beau Rivage Mekong or Inter Hotel - Has anyone stayed there?

Any suggestions welcome.
