'uddersfield 2 (one offside) Leeds 1 (one offside). bloomin good derby match, very enjoyable except a draw would have suited Brighton & Newcastle better

We lost but it was a very enjoyable, well refereed game. Hudds have been outstanding in their last 2 games and, if I was a fan, I would be immensely proud now and, with Brighton 2 down as I type, be looking at overtaking them.

Lots of positives from my side of W Yorks and with 2 winnable home games coming up, we can hopefully push on.

Still, I am rather peed of tonigh

The only certainly about the Championship matches is .......... NOTHING is certain

Any team (Rotherham included) can give big problems to any of the so called top (promotion chasing) teams.

I still don't think you can write Villa (14th) off, as a four or five game winning run will have them close to the play off places, and I have a sneeking feeling that Fulham will be there or there about at the end of the season

The 2 best teams I have seen on their day this season are Hudds and, your pick, Fulham.

I still think it will be Newcy and Brighton going up with Hudds, Sheff W and, two from Leeds, Norwich and Derby joining them. Personally, I cant see Reading maintaining their position and Villa need to win 12/13 of their last 17 games which is unlikely. Fulham are maybe too inconsistent.

Regardless, having been in Thailand for 10 years, I am still dreaming of the day when I see a local (my grandchildren and wife excepted) in a Leeds shirt and that will only happen when we have a recent PL history - I have even seen locals in Blackpool and Everton shirts ffs!!

Sky Bet Championship

Huddersfield Town 2-1 Leeds United
Brentford 3-3 Brighton & Hove Albion
Bit of a game at Huddersfield, as to be expected.. :D
The home side won it, possibly fortunately, at the death.
Even wackier game between the two 'B's'. :D
Brighton were outplayed in the first half to go in 2 down. Then they thought they had won it with a score 4 minutes into extra time, only for the hosts to clinch a draw 3 minutes later..

Newcastle possibly the winners over a frantic weekend at the top, but the top two (Newcastle & Brighton) still have a decent advantage of a couple of wins...

And I suspect that Newcastle will need the points with their next fixtures being ....

Wolves (Away)
Norwich (Away)
Villa (Home)
Bristol C (Home)
Brighton (Away)
Huddersfield (Away)
Reading (Away)

I somehow doubt they will still be top after that little lot 8-[

This'll please at least ONE Udon resident ....

THE YAK IS BACK

Yakubu is on trial at Coventry City, according to the Coventry Telegraph.

The former Premier League striker scored almost 100 top flight goals with Portsmouth, Everton, Middlesbrough and Blackburn Rovers

The 35-year-old striker is set to undergo a fitness assessment with a view to offering him a short-term deal until the end of the season.
He had been playing in the Turkish Super League with Kayserispor

Don't often get any GOOD news for Coventry fans so it's worth a mention

They are among the "free to air" sat channels which are accessible with most sat/cable systems.
I think (tho not sure) they are also on the "true packages"

If you have almost any cable or sat installed they will probably be there somewhere.

The old Home cable/GMM system has them on Channel 14 MCOT Kids and Channel 30 MCOT HD although this does vary.

It should also be noted that not all matches have an English language feed.

Leeds United 0-2 Cardiff City
Wolverhampton Wanderers 0-1 Newcastle United
Gillingham 1-1 Port Vale
Scunthorpe United 0-1 Shrewsbury Town
Notts County 2-1 Cheltenham Town
Forest Green Rovers 2-0 Boreham Wood
Torquay United 1-1 Macclesfield Town
FC United of Manchester 3-3 Chorley
Leeds have an afternoon to forget as they finish with 10 men, although that had little to do with the result. They remain firmly in a play off place, but dreams of an automatic spot must be fading as they slip 10 points behind second placed Brighton.
Not a game of many chances as Newcastle do just enough to win the first of Statto's run of tough games.
Steve will be delighted as the Gills manage to nick a point 5 minutes into time added on. The two sides remain locked in 18th. & 19th, place in the league as well!!
It was a good goal by Crystal Palace loanee, Freddie Ladapo, to end The Iron's run of 26 unbeaten at home. They remain second by 4 points, but have played a game more than Bolton..
A dismal first half display saw Town 2 goals down at the break. They improved second half but not by enough. This was a 6 pointer at the bottom of the league & a win would have given Town plenty of breathing space. As it is, they remain in serious trouble..
Green needed the victory after some disappointing displays, but they had to wait until the 84th. minute to break down the stubborn visitors. It keeps them in third in a close battle for the single automatic promotion battle.
Macclesfield remain mid-table in a season with its' ups & downs that looks almost over already..
It has been much the same for the FC United of Manchester's season too. Another high scoring draw sees them firmly mid-table..

Leeds United 2-1 Bristol City
Norwich City 2-2 Newcastle United
Scunthorpe United 0-0 Walsall
Millwall 2-0 Port Vale
Stevenage 2-1 Cheltenham Town
As Brighton draw as well, not too much damage for Newcastle..
Good win by Leeds, but all the other play off promotion rivals win as well..
Sheffield United can only draw as well, but Bolton win to move to within 2 points of the Iron with a game in hand..
Vale drop to just outside the zone as Oldham win & Gillingham draw!
Town also drop to just outside the zone on goal difference only as just about all their rival manage to pick up a point..
