My Mom was cross-eyed in only one eye (I never knew until I was 11 yrs old and she came up behind me while I was looking in the mirror :shock:

) so she had the advantage of seeing the world in both views. :lol:

I suffer from astigmatism,have worn spectacles since 1950, NHS ones too, like John Lennon, but my view remains that health is a right not a privilige and that my UK taxes should have always provided me with free UK eye care, as Lord Beveridge intended.

Myopia is also a widespread problem here it seems.

Judging by the number of off the shelf glasses for sale.
Just try a pair that suits your particular problem. :shock:

I recommend seeing a qualified Optician to check for myopia (for those of you that are contemplating buying off the shelf spectacles). :nosey:

hmmm.. cross-eyed, wall-eyed, alternating esotropia, strabissumus. dah kae, dah toouh. I figure it this way... I got my eyes aligned like the tires on a car when I was 21 after when talking to folks they'd peer quizzically my way, and say, "you talkin' to me???" "How do you see", they'd say?? "Like a lizard" I'd reply, "One freakin' eye at a time." Having this from birth and after multiple eye alignments (cosmetic only) to straighten em' out, it's made me sensitive in my observations of other folks with the same affliction.. And... there's quite a few of us out there..

The downside of course is that anyone that has any of these ocular problems, normally has no binocular depth perception.. And what really sucked was not knowing why I was Charlie Brown like catching the football in my face or totally unable to hit a baseball.. No depth perception and ya can't judge fine distance.. That's life though and folks can dapt to most anything
