How happy are you?

Postby trubrit » February 2, 2011, 10:07 am

This link is to a simple little question and answer quiz which aims to discover your own degree of confidence and happiness .
http://www.elainesden.org/gpage7.html
I am and have always been, very self confident which has sometimes led to others , less confident than I , to brand me , incorrectly as grandiloquent or pompous .Of course those that know me well ,will say that is nonsense . :lol: ;
I scored 48. How about you ? Are you happy with yourself? Just for fun and possibly to let off steam for those that feel the need, but remember your replies will reveal more about you than me . :-"

Val given that the quiz is designed to get you to buy something - along the lines of "How You Can Feel Happier in Your Life" (surprise, surprise) - I feel the results are best taken with a large grain of salt.

ps I scored 60. :D

Thank you Jack for not letting me down, I had confidently put you down as my banker for the first to reply . \:D/

As for Maaka. Thanks for your quick response. Such a low score I think you must be a candidate for a couple of the books. Remember as the lady said . You really must learn to love yourself or how else can you expect others to . I am sure you warrant a higher mark.

Sometimes I'm happy, sometimes I'm not. That's the human experience. If you've never been unhappy how would you know when your happy?

The test questions cover: SIGNIFICANCE,APPRECIATION,VALUE,INCLUSION,FULFILLMENT,RESPECT,SUCCESS,POWER,and SELF-LOVE. TB adds Confidence to his list of happiness traits.

These are all things we all strive for but are not essential for happiness. I think the above list is confusing success in life with happiness. They are not the same thing.

Happiness comes from within. You don't need any of the above to feel happy. I see people here all the time that have NONE of the above, and don't even have a pot to piss in, yet their happy.

A list of happiness markers for me would include: Gratefulness, Kindness, Love of/doing for others, and being fully in the moment. I include being in the moment because that's where happiness happens. You can hope for happiness in the future or reminisce about happiness in the past, but you can only truly experience it in the moment. 8)

I'm not sure if this statement is suppose to be funny or serious? It sounds a bit pompous in and of itself Trubrit!

Gratefulness is the key to a happy life that we hold in our hands, because if we are not grateful, then no matter how much we have we will not be happy -- because we will always want to have something else or something more.
- David Steindl-Rast

The basic thing is that everyone wants happiness, no one wants suffering. And happiness mainly comes from our own attitude, rather than from external factors. If your own mental attitude is correct, even if you remain in a hostile atmosphere, you feel happy.
- Tenzin Gyatso, 14th Dalai Lama

But what is happiness except the simple harmony between a man and the life he leads?
- Albert Camus

Happiness cannot be traveled to, owned, earned, worn or consumed. Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace and gratitude.
- Denis Waitley

If you observe a really happy man you will find him building a boat, writing a symphony, educating his son, growing double dahlias in his garden. He will not be searching for happiness as if it were a collar button that has rolled under the radiator.
- W. Beran Wolfe

The truest greatness lies in being kind, the truest wisdom in a happy mind.
- Ella Wheeler Wilcox

The pursuit of happiness is a most ridiculous phrase, if you pursue happiness you'll never find it.
- C. P. Snow

Happiness comes when your work and words are of benefit to yourself and others.
- Buddha

Happiness cannot come from without. It must come from within. It is not what we see and touch or that which others do for us which makes us happy; it is that which we think and feel and do, first for the other fellow and then for ourselves.
- Helen Keller

If only we'd stop trying to be happy we'd have a pretty good time.
- Edith Wharton

How happy are you? Three things come to mind, very happy, in the middle, and not happy.
To become very happy, it also comes down to three things, an ubundence of WFB's, money, and lager, not necessarily in that order.
To become in the middle happy you need to deduct between 50 and 60% from the above three things.
If your not happy it means you've never been able to get a WFB because you're broke and can't afford to buy lager let alone a smirnoff ice for a potential WFB.

OT............. \:D/

Score: 43/54 = 79.63

Only thing missing in my "happiness" is that I am "out of sight - out of mind" to most of my life-long friends back in the States. If I were to ever kick the bucket, most might only find out through the grapevine some months or years later. But when I am in the States visiting, everyone claims to be eager for ME to go visit THEM even if I am staying just across town after making the trip across the planet. Sucks. Other than that, my life is bliss!
