Index Living Mall - Info, Exchanges, Repair?

Postby thedude » August 20, 2010, 9:19 am

Hoping some of you serious shoppers can help me.

1) Bought a top end office chair from Logica shop, bottom floor of Index (Living Mall) about 6 months ago - expensive.

2) Now it won't stay locked in the upright position, keeps sliding down.

3) Lost receipt (of course). Wife has stack of receipts for everything except this expensive item.

4) Any chance they'll exchange it? Repair it? Without a receipt?

5) OK, thought not. Anyone know a good shop or person who might be able to fix this properly?

Funny how important it becomes when it doesn't work.

Anyone know where to find Index's tel. no.? Searched with no luck.

Thanks in advance for any tips or advice, DUDE

Cheers, that's a start. Now to make the old mistake of trying to call them first, see if they can help me, as my Thai partner gets too upset to even ask her to help with these things anymore...

Imagine the upshot's gotta be: No receipt, you're SOL. So repair shop next step, I reckon...where they make it worse, in my experience. What's an OT to do, though?

Dude, you could try just turning up with it, - oops forgot the receipt - they should recognise it as what they sell, and they may know an immediate answer to the problem.

I had a similar problem with a water heater (shower unit) that had stopped working. I had bought it myself from Tesco and got the local electrician to install it. So got the electrician back to remove it (he checked it first and couldn't find the problem), took it back to Tesco, and as soon as I walked in with it, some salesman guy opened it up and pointed out an internal reset that none of us had known about!

My point being they may know an easy fix in the shop you bought it from. ;)

agree with arjay. Don't be so negative, you just might be surprised.

Thanks for the advice. Always planned to take it in and see what they say - logical first step.

If any place should provide customer service in Udon, it's a place like this - let's see.

I'm not a negative or pessimistic person - just speaking from personal experience in situations like this.

Cheers, DUDE

"as my Thai partner gets too upset to even ask her to help with these things anymore"

Reason #228 to learn Thai (at least enough to deal with this DNA deficiency in nearly all Thai women)
