Information about Horse Racing in Udon Thani

Postby THAI ROB » March 20, 2006, 2:37 am

Hello everyone, new member. I intend to visit Udon Thani later this year/and or early next year. What days and dates does the Horseracing take place as i would like to go there when i visit. I would be grateful for any information. PS Udon Thani has received a favourable mention today on the Stickman Bangkok website. www.stickmanbangkok.com

Rob,

Welcome to the forum.

Was interested to read on Stickmans site the article about American soldiers and prostitutes.

Maybe some of the Udon ladies are going to be dissapointed this year?

Every Saturday around noon, new race every 30 min till 5-6pm. Easy to bet, not to win. 10 min from down town, free parking/entry (of cause). Heineken only 35 Bt/can.

Horse track location

Postby FrazeeDK » March 23, 2006, 9:15 pm

drive east on Sakhon Nakhon road past Big C. Go past 7/11 and Amazon Cafe, and past BP camp. You'll see the sign in English for the Horse Racing Track; turn right, go against traffic about 20 meters and down the side road on the south side of the main road and on further about 900 meters to the track..
I'd swear they race on Sunday sometimes too.. I can hear the crowd from my place about 1 km away..
Interesting string.. Maybe I'll wander on over there one Saturday.
