Preface, today seems very mundane compared to excitement early yesterday, since Croc's/Ian's slate was wiped clean.

Looking for any new topic of interest, I decided to let statistics guide me, as what interests the majority may also interest me, not to mention inspire new venture capitalists coming to Udon, and found some surprises.

HOW MANY "VIEWS" (not how many posts) is what guided my search today, and the top viewed in a few categories are:

Where to eat
12,419 Little Italian Restaurant (wow, congratulations Alberto)
7735 Irish Clock a distant second (no surprise, IC tries hard*)
5295 Steve's Fish N Chips a respectable third (hmmmm)
*note IC might win if his multiple threads are consolidated...

Heath & Beauty
3178 Viagara (anyone surprised?)
2573 Denstist Updates (fair enough, a basic need)
2353 Paul Dee (reason? any correlation to #1 above, or just effective advertising)

Nightlife
37,314 Koala Bar (surprised, what is with this place?)
6651 Nutty Park
3840 Mr. Tongs
3179 Come on Lads (this one is surprising)

On a related note, sometimes am astonished to see that thousands of posts are written by individuals, very prolific writers in Udon Thani. Not counting moderators, who are the top 10-20 posters, with stats? And most viewed writers?

Rct,

Interesting. You did not relate the date of initial post. If possible a quotient to be invented:
number of views/posts/date of posting.

Just on views I notice that our Master Mind Mr CC PienMash from Scunthorp is by far on the top in category
Shopping also comparing to the top in Where to eat and nightlife. =D>

Surprised........ 8-[ ????

Steve's Fish and Chips, Soi Saphan Chippy, quite a few for being around such a short time and virtually no promotion by themselves, amazing in itself. Where many others, posts are generated by themselves. Good information tool, though sometimes a bit over bearing, but understandable.

Life is never boring, but some people choose to be bored.
Wayne Dyer (1940-?) American psychotherapist, author and lecturer.

When people are bored it is primarily with themselves.
Eric Hoffer (1902-1983) American philosopher and author.

The man who lets himself be bored is even more contemptible than the bore.
Samuel Butler (1612-1680) British poet and satirist.

The concept of boredom entails an inability to use up present moments in a personally fulfilling way.

I would have credited you with a better understanding of the English language BH. I didn't say I am bored, but that I am bored with the forum. Anyway isn't your post way off topic?

Yes it probably was - but there again it was a direct reply to YOUR post.

If one is bored with something - as you plainly said you were - then a person who was not bored with their life in general would carry on & do the things that did not bore them - rather than wasting their time complaining that something did bore them...
My understanding of the English language is just fine thank you TB....As is my understanding of human nature in general... :?

RCT,

Sorry, I have looked the statistics again for bars and/or restaurants.

Just on views where the last post is made after 2009 I come to the following
top 3 conclusion (april 2 around 15.00 pm):

1. The Bookhouse 29891
2. Aussie Burger Bar 20916
3. The OLD Irish Clock 14519

Please correct if I am wrong. If not these are then more representative results on
bar and/or restaurant views

Congratulations Jeremy!

This is ofcourse excluding the views of our Mastermind CC, who is way on top if you
also consider his venue as a restaurant, no need to congratulate :D :D :-" ....joking Mash....

Harmony I liked your first morning suggestion of further slicing and dicing.

As for finding additonal higher number, must confess I only looked at the first page (most current) of each general heading, did not go any deeper on following pages, or take the project as seriously as I should have. Trubrit was correct I was inspired by boredom to analyze the forum in this way.

On the subject of prolific posters, who are they? Maybe we should list them, and vote for them, most useful, most entertaining, most ???? etc.

Also, glad to see Croc/Ian is back posting, we need more excitement from time to time on this forum.

I think Khun BM still remains by far the most prolific poster to grace these shores. The business owners still have a ways to go before they catch him in posts.

harmony udon's remarks re: truebrit show a lack of, how to put it, promoting perfect harmony on the forum. Try to be nice, and be true to the lyrics of the song you quote.
