Sounds/looks similar to wearing a retainer, thats a clear plastic mould that fits over your teeth once they have been straightened by orthodontic braces, They usually have to be worn for part of the day for the rest of your life...no big deal if wearing at night when sleeping, but with Invisable braces every time you eat/drink etc you have to slip the clear braces off, (could be a pain in the ar$e) And teeth that are naturally out of line will need some retaining for ever.....invisalign sounds simple, but i am thinking there is nothing like having them done by O/braces,with monthly visits for checks and a little tightening until the teeth have been lined up,(and i bet its a faster process by using braces) incidentally you don't need a mouth full of metal, you can get white/clear braces fitted and they don't really notice that much.., with out a retainer the teeth will slowly move back to where they were, so the new invisilign system will surely be the same.....wear forever..!
Teeth are tough to move...i would do a fair bit of research before deciding on going the plastic route.

I have no idea on getting them in Thailand.
Just my Thoughts on it.

It's fashionable to wear braces in Thailand. When I was a kid you would get the pi** taken out of you if you had braces. I know a couple of people that had them fitted even though they didn't need them, just because it was fashionable.

I read an article 7-8 years ago in the BKK Post , the President of the Thailand Orthodontal Assocation
( sic ) trying to defend the marketing practices of his members , and how they are targetting the teenagers etc.

There is a few millionaire practices since that article and no stopping them.

Having said that a normal price for the 2 year treatment is approx 30,000 B in Udon / KK. Might be 50,000 in BKK, BUT thats approx 15% of the cost back in Expat land.

Thai Visa reported a case in Khon Kaen this week where a 17 year old girl had coloured braces fitted by an unqualified practitioner and later died as a result of an infection caused by the procedure.
17 years old.....dead in the name of fashion......what a waste.....and these braces look atrocious,as well ! :(
