What a morning!! First the Irish Clock then our Pops get attacked by new members. Don't they know they are both part of the establishment here in Udon, and as such are sacred?

I have been to Irish Clock, when it first opened. The Irish Clock had set new standards that are high in quality food, great service, and beautiful/comfortable rooms. Steve and Mali have done a great job in keeping the place looking clean and beautiful. Their friendliness and their concerns for the customers comfort has made it the place to stay when in Udon Thani.

The Clock appears to be more popular than ever. Food is still high quality & a place to have a hassle free drink. I have never stayed there, but have not heard a complaint by anyone that has!! Breakfast is a sure way to set you up for the day...

Errrrrr.... Just in case there was any misunderstanding... The bit about the menus was a joke. Just to clear things up I too rate the Irish Clock as the best there is... I haven't tried EVERY eatery just yet but quality of food and service is excellent.

Also the term Sassnach is NOT a derogatory term it simply means Englishman. Hope this clears things up.

Er yeah, I understood it as a joke.

Don't tell me someone suffered a sense of humour failure and had a pop at you for calling Englishmen, 'Sassenachs'?

BKKSTAN wrote::D Glad to hear about the beds doc, thanks! If I am in Udon and decide to stay the night ,I will check out the Irish Clock.I like the host and hostess, great service!
I don't want to make this another smoking issue post, but I hope the rooms don't smell of smoke.Does the smoke from the bar filter into the rooms? If no smoke, great beds and a strong hot shower, they will have my business!

I stayed there last week and NO trace of smoke smell. Great accommodation and friendly staff. Grub wasn't bad either. Of course, the pub is right next store to the new Day & Night Entertainment Center, so ALL needs are now catered for!

But it is still in one of the worst places in Udon, down a dirty smelly road haunted by whoremongers, in the evening. The new red light district is but a stagger away ...........

Which is a shame.........., given the obvious investment in the place. And the food is excellent, the breakfast is superb if you want the full monty.

Some might argue that the Day & Night Entertainment Center ADDS to the attraction of the street...!!!

In my couple of visits to the Clock I observed a Thai massage place next door.

If this place appeared on the (Udon) map, would it be described as traditional Thai, or non-traditional Thai? :D

Hmm!

Given the difference in price from a Thai massage - 150 - to an oil massage - 400, I would have thought this indicated an upscaling of service.

Does this story have a happy ending? :D :D

Ah, that I cannot tell you Jack... :D
But never forget the cost of oil at the moment!!!! :D :D

Seriously, I only know that they do traditional massages, but maybe that is just all that the customer requested. :D

Ive been in there for a massage on many occasions and since its a husband and wife team i think your barking up the wrong tree. But the wife also runs the bar across that small lane next to the massage shop

Thank you gentlemen for your concise reports.

Presumably if one desires a massage - sans happy ending - you have a choice of the husband or the wife :D :D
