Is there an Immigration office in Udon Thani?

This is the question I was asked by Thai Immigration when I exited Thailand by air on 11/3/2010. The Application of stay and Re-Entry Permit stamped Udon Thani Immigration had them puzzled. Finally they asked where I lived and where the office was in Udon Thani.

Give em a break, they see all the red shirts in town at the moment but have know idea where they are from. Isaan is some fantasy (or nightmare) they have heard of but know nothing about! 8-[
