Joints, roasts, brisket and the like

Postby tamada » November 28, 2010, 7:31 pm

Are there any butchers shops in Udon capable of preparing meat cuts for roasts and the like? Similarly looking for brisket for a slow bbq.

In Udon itself I believe that there are now two butchers selling Thai-French beef.
They might be the best place to start.

Otherwise I think you are struggling. However there are 'Internet' shops in Bangkok selling Australian & New Zealand meats on line.

Jon, Logisticlly speaking I Dont know when I will be departing the Supercraft Goodison next time yet,as I dont have any clairvoyancey skills like yourself, I Thought you might order it and let me know, say a couple of days before it came,as you would know in ADVANCE,Through your Magical gift..........Then I would ZOOM along Highway 2 and recieve the said joint.........Now Seriously IT is needed so I can "Stuff it " Cook it and serve it for Dinner on Dec 24th ( Christmas Eve ) So IF you could be a decent ' Little Scunny Supporter " and let me know which day is best for you !!!!! How about I Pick it up on the 22nd in the afternoon ????

Pienmash,

I would also take a couple of fresh Briskets of your hand. I know I can get them from Sakhon Nakhon but it is a pain in the arse to drive all the way there for steaks (300km all in). Preferably I would like the full brisket with the top still on and all the fat. Then I will cook the baby for 10-12 hours (After marinating for 24hours).

Best cut of meat avaialble. I cooked one from Sakhon on my last visit and it was absolutely beautiful. The neighbors thought i was crazy starting cooking at 8am with 2 cases of cold tiger. One of the best BBQ days you can imagine.
