July 1st - Birthday of the Dominion of Canada

Postby Laan Yaa Mo » June 24, 2011, 6:42 pm

As most everyone on this board knows, it is the birthday of the Dominion of Canada, which began its existence in 1867. Prince William and Princess Kate will be on hand in Ottawa for the festivities.

Why, what happened on 4 July that is so important for the globe? Surely, it pales in significance to Britain granting Dominion status to Canada!

4th of July isn't that when some disenfranchised colonials got upset with the landlord and decided to revolt, ever since then they have trumpeted their superiority BUT they still manage to F*** up their finances ( which was the cause of the revolt in the first place ) and cause mayhem around the world, so it is not really important is it.

Wow, sounds to me a bit of "sour grapes" as the "Disenfranchised Colonists" have always been called upon to bail out the "Great British Empire" in times of distress.... :-" :-" :-" ;)

I just love threads like this on cold wintry wet mornings , the rain looks to be set in for the day so i can get stuck in to some serious posting.

Forget that obscure little nation in the top part of the planet Canada ,,,,,,, only 11 people live there !! and please could the last one to leave turn off th lights , i watched a Mad Max movie on telly last neet im thinkin Canada must be somethin like that but colder !!.

KP ........ you lit the touch paper ref the seppos thinking they rule the world and are the richest nation on the planet , knock off the national deficit n what they owe out and basically they are on the bones of their arse . This is how they treated Breat Britain after we gave then a chance , a culture a language and even David Beckham and his clan ..... all of which which they have destroyed ................. all we got in return is Ronald Mcdonald , Oprah Winfrey and an invitition to big parties in Eyerak and Afganistan THANKS A LOT !!.

IMO Obama is worse than Bush and its scary thinking the morman Romney could be the next second most powerful man in the world behind Donald Trump , most American customers who frequent CC agree with me on that and say geee jon you know your cotton picking US polictics .

mash ......... i love HILLARY CLINTON

Well humble maybe but certainly not uneducated. And yes, I do realize your tongue in cheek style. I was not seriously criticizing your prejudices. I have many of my own. Do have to agree with you on your assessment of BHO.I think in the near future there will be only a few die hard libs who will still be standing by their man. Most regular folks have come to agree what a looser our Obama is. Since the alarm bell is ringing wont be long until he is out the door and back with his radical cronies in Chi Town. Just gotta get these Thai politics out of the way so we can sit back and enjoy the comical and rambunctious American politics.

To be serious i cant see any outcome of the up n coming Thai election which will result in any sort of stable gvernment and/or running of the nation , HOWEVER take a look at what can happen in places like Libya and Syria and hopefully things will in time calm down here ............. till then im wearing a motorcyle helmet in bed just in case .

Just out o interest and ask all Americans who come in CC - if you could choose the next US president who would it be ?? ........ you cant choose Tigr Woods ok !
