Stayed here last night, after the Loy Krathong festivities at nong prajack park. Hanging out at Arena Restaurant/bar, making it a short walk to hotel/gh. They have 30+ rooms, 4 story building, 10 per floor, didn

LA, I've noticed that several of these places call themselves "Condo" but seldom do I see any cooking facilities - just the basic single room and a bath. Does anyone know if there are any actual condo's in the area? I have friends who want to stay long-term but also want a bit more than just a hotel room. When I think 'condo', I picture a 1 or 2 bedroom apartment with kitchen and bath. :?

If they are rental units, then they very seldom have cooking facilities.at my condo in BK they did not allow gas cooking, therefore everything was set up for electric only!

I think it is illegal to have gas bottles on the first floor (second floor for Americans) and up.

I rented a condo in Pattaya with a complete kitchen... electric stove top, elect. oven and microwave. I just don't understand how they can classify a hotel room as a 'condo'.?? :?

KTC 'Condotel' sounds more 'Fancy' than KTC 'Room'.

KTC is really for the long stay although it doesn't have cookin facil, the monthly rate is good. I have a few friends that stay there and are very happy, love eating out and all that touristy stuff. If you are looking for a proper hotel with all the facilities like Pool /fitness / restaurant & bar (also for 400bt a night) then you need look no further than the Englishmans Retreat. I stay there all the time and find it excellent value for money. Bike & Car rental is a good rate too!!

You might find that the "condotels" have managed somehow to separate themselves from the regular hotels to achieve lower taxes or being subjected to fewer government regulations.
