Well,I went to Fuzzy Kens yesterday and found a pleasant fair minded English gentleman with a good collection of books and a nice little store!

He has a sign that the book trade is 35 baht and the books are for direct sale starting at 100 baht. His collection is bigger than just the ones he bought from Harry!

We planned to and did stop there after coming back from Koen Kaen yesterday,so I had thrown some books in the car to trade!

I didn't count how many books I had,but it turned out I grabbed 22 books from the house!

I didn't take the books in with me to start with as I wanted to check out the place first.I went in and started looking at his book selection and immediately saw many books that interested me and that I knew I had not read yet!

When meeting and talking with Ken,I asked him if he would trade 3-1 on books as that is the going rate in BK.He said that he was interested to expand is selection and would consider it if the book were in good collection.

In the mean time I had pulled out 15 books that I wanted quickly from only just 2 rows of books in one section!I saw many more that interested me,so I was happy and went to get the books from the car so he could inspect them and we could settle up.

I let him know that I have a large selection of books and that he would see me a couple of times a month to do exchanges.

When I asked how much I owed him in difference for the books,he thought a moment and said''why don't we call it even, since your books are of good quality and I have not read any of them.''

So he took 22 books from me and I got 15 books in exchange! The way I figure it,I owed him 35 baht for 15 books and 700+ baht for the other seven or I could exchange for 7 books and pay 800+ for the other 8!

I bought 5 canned soft drinks from him for a grand total of 88 baht(must charge tax) which is NM market or Thai store prices to me,not falang bar/resturant prices.

The 2 girls working there were very pleasant and nice also!

Bottomline ,I don't see a greedy individual trying to rip anybody off!As a matter of fact I was so happy that I had my daughter get another bag of books that have been in the car trunk for a couple of years(probably about 15 books) and I gave them to him as a present!

I will be back! :D :D

Thanks for the straight from the horses mouth report Stan. What a shame that others couldn't check out the facts before slagging the guy off. I too have found him a very pleasant, if a little reserved, sort of guy. I will certainly be getting some books exchanged there as well as enjoying his reasonably priced food.
