I don't think I could of said it better than these two gents, and sorry, the quote function doesn't seem to be co-operating for me this morning.

I seem to take one step forward and two steps backwards.

Anyone that says this is heaven on earth must have been living in hell back in their home country.

I have already made a commitment to Udon and now find myself stuck between a rock and a hard place.

I have always been a malcontent in my own culture, the transition and practice has come naturally.

The abundence of WFB's that are up for it makes the transition easier as well.

Making the Transition

Postby gordonp » April 4, 2011, 11:46 am

Hi All

Being new in Thailand (less than 2 years) and as this is my first post I hesitated long before posting this reply. Please understand I intend no insult to anyone on this forum but the subject reminded me of a story I once read, it went something like this: A man is walking between two villages when he meets a monk travelling in the opposite direction. The man asks the monk "What are the people like in the next village?" "What were the people like in the last village you passed through?" replied the monk. "I found them to be rude, hostile and very unfriendly" says the man. "Then you will find them very similar in the next village" says the monk before continuing on his way.
