Udon Marathon 42.195 km, mini-marathon 10.5 km, walk-run 5 km scheduled for Sunday, 6 March 2011 to promote good health and Udon's 118 anniversary. The 42.195km race begins at 4:00AM, the 10.5 mini marathon begins at 6:00AM, and the 5km walk-run race begins at 6:30AM. Participants will be divided by age group and by sex.
From the article, I can't tell exactly where the race will be held, but it's in the Nongprajak area.
There's a 400 baht entrance fee for the big race, 200 for the mini-marathon, and 50 baht for the walk-run.

Although the article doesn't say so, I'd guess you could go to the Health Office (near the burned out municipality building) and inquire there. There are usually a few folks there who speak English.
I question the 4AM starting time for the big race, but that's what the article says.

The 4am starting time for the marathon is correct.Its 42 km and it starts to get light/hot by 6.30am which means the vast majority of competitors wont have completed the course by that time.....they aim to have most people finished by 8am at the latest.
I did the 10km last year which started at 6am so most people are finished by 7am.
You can enter the day before the race.....just go through the main gates at Nong Prajak and head towards the car park at the end.There will be stalls accepting your entry and fee plus selling running gear and food plus a free t-shirt for entrants to the marathon and 10k.
