Mark Buerhle - Perfect Game

Postby Laan Yaa Mo » July 24, 2009, 4:56 am

Mark Buerhle of the Chicago White Sox just completed a no-hitter vs. Tampa Bay a short time ago.

His perfect game was saved by a great catch in left-centre field with one out in the top of the ninth. Take a look.

This is the second no-hitter of Buerhle's career.

Tilo, can't view it due to a copyright claim but saw the great catch by Wise on ESPN replay. Outstanding effort by Buehrle. Had him in my lineup in three fantasy leagues which is also a good thing.

So it has disappeared. I put it up from the Globe and Mail newspaper in Toronto just before I left to teach about the Red Sun in Our Hearts, Chairman Mao.

It looks like Major League Baseball has the video copyrighted and took it down.

Buerhle and Hallyday are two of the best pitchers in baseball now and either one of them would help out a fantasy team.

The catch has to be one of the highlights of the year, and the pitching effort was a gem. Khun Mark still has a long way to go to catch Nolan Ryan in no-hitters.

Nolan Ryan was awesome. Still remember reading about Norm Cash walking up to homeplate with a table leg instead of a bat once when he had to face Nolan Ryan. Told the ump that he tried everything else to hit this guy so might as well give this a shot.

Have Halladay also in a couple leagues and he usually comes through with some fine stats. Dan Haren is another one doing well lately. Will have to watch Buehrle's gem on MLB.TV archived games or at least the highlights.

From the ESPN replay I thought that Wise had the ball in his glove long enough to be called out but his reaction was good after it popped out and he grabbed it with his bare hand while he was falling to the ground.
