I used Travel Guard, had three claims which they paid quickly. I had to pay first and then submit but they paid quickly. They are more expensive but I would use them again if needed.

BUPA, AIA or whichever, get signed up before you turn 60 or health insurance may become hard to get especially if you have "pre-existing conditions". I also have Travel Guard (thanks, banpaeng) and just became eligible for US Medicare.

I use "Thai health"

satisfied until now.

difference with BUPA, AIA,
no medical check :D :D :D 8)

You don't have to pay first and later ask your money back...
You only pay that what wouldn't be covered by your insurance....interesting, no calling, running or waiting for my money back :D :D

You picked an appropriate thread for your return 747... I need to call Pii Roong... Quickly. Hopefully my nervous disposition will not affect my premium.

Ah almost 8pm, time for my tranquillizers.

Talked with a friend the other day who has a policy here with New York Life Save Lite. He pays about 1700 baht per month for what looks like decent coverage. He hasn't had to use it, so he has no idea what their payment history is ...

Anyone else use that company?

Whatever you choose, may i suggest that every year you re-evaluate your requirements, as I think about 18mths ago, AEK, out Thb 500 per day on top for nurse cover. Now if you never looked at prices and costs, accomodation and services costs could sprial above your daily limit, medical costs are checked by Ins coys, therefore hospitals have to be competitive about those but other costs are not subject to the same checks, hence they can rise.
Just a note for the unwary, also Bupa did not know these costs had gone up. When i found out I adjusted my cover accordingly, not that i intend to spend a lot of time in hospital but 3-4 weeks would cost about 15000 Baht extra.Stress you do not want if you are ill.
