A few posts back there was a question of whether or not Nong Khai would do the 90 day notification by mail. They do. I sent mine off on May 8 by EMS and got it back today, May 18. That's actually a little faster than I used to get them back from Bangkok.

So if Nong Khai are advising now that there will be an office set up in Udon, in a minimum of 2 months from now,can we presume that Pop's receive the praise for this and presumably his petition convinced the people in charge or was there no petition at all [-( and Nong Khai have taken all the credit. :-k

(That means 4 month.)if you are double the time, you getting nearly.
And it will NOT at AIK.
This friendly Lady in Nonkhai, sitting in her special room,
gave me yesterday the clear answer.
We will look forward...

Conflicting information given by the immigration staff[/b]. This is about asking one staff member a question, getting the answer, then returning and asking the same question to another staff member but getting a different answer. The reason is, they don't get most up to date changes, a better way of saying, lack of communication between Bangkok and Nong Khai Immigrations.

I just noticed the topic and posts.
In many cases, because of the language difficulties, understanding between Immigration Officers and ‘customers’ is going to be a problem. But it has to be a real concern if the Officers themselves within a single office cannot agree the procedure, or give the same advice. And the excuse that an office e.g. Nong Khai doesn’t receive/cannot agree on the interpretation of Bangkok-issued laws etc. is frankly pathetic. Where is the leadership/direction here?

The provision of handouts/guidance notes is to be applauded – IF they are clear. Whilst hardly an English scholar, I’ve often thought of asking the Nong Khai office if they needed help. I try to be properly prepared for my visit and usually have no problems, but I can sympathise with those given conflicting guidance. Only recently, I was given a leaflet concerning applying for a marriage visa. This was welcome, but I did think the information was badly laid out and, indeed, (contrary to what I understand ARE the various options) the omission of a key word ‘OR’ confuses the guidance.

I tried to incorporate above in my first post too. Maybe they still haven't agreed?
