Mekong Export Festival 2009

Mekong Export Festival 2009, March 6-15.
I've seen the announcements all over town. Tuangsri Muang looks like it's getting ready for something big.
Tried googling it, but the results are all in Thai. Anyone have any info on the festival?

H.E.Mrs. Porntiva Nakasai, Minister of Commerce gives a press conference on “Mekong Export Festival 2009” on February 17, 2009 at Ministry of Commerce. The Festival will be held at Ubon Ratchathani province, Udon Thani province, Mukdahan province and Chiang Rai province during March – May 2009.

Just came from there. There's only about 5-6 stalls with Laos products mainly silk & silver. More stalls with clothing of all kinds, incl the stuff popular with the backpackers (hippie wear) and Thai traditional wear. Men & women accessories (shoes, purses, wallets, belts, jewelry, etc). Toys for the kids some neat stuff made from wood. There's stuff for the house: portable A/C units, farm equipment, plumbing hardware and more. Then the typical OTOP food stuff with a few vendors providing samples. Mama noodles, hair products, laundry detergent, dried fish, canned foods, etc. There's also a section with stuff from the south (so the wife says and confirmed by the manner of dress of the vendors).

We walked away with a bottle of Thai fruit wine 150bt, some Ginsing tea 350bt and some snacks and stuff for the kids. The big tent is A/C'ed and outside between the tent and Phosi rd there's food made to order, but we skipped that so don't know what's on offer. Free concert tonight starting about 1900.
