The link contains some graphic photos. The victim is simply identified as a foreigner, no name or age. The accident happened near the sports stadium at Nongbua Market.

Some people get clued into the local news by watching the news on TV, some by reading the local Thai papers, and others by reading https://www.facebook.com/UdonNews, Thaiirath.com, or other online news links (the link above is from the udonnews Facebook page). It can be enlightening what goes on in the local community.....or you can do what many people do when the news isn't all smiling face and emojis......ignore it and make believe it doesn't happen. RIP to the feller . But the big question is, can anyone recognise him . Unfortunately it seems another foreigner thinks no helmet is the way to go, and for him it was.

I read the article to see if I could identify the individual. I've seen so many dead bodies in my time and don't do faceache. I certainly wouldn't apply "like this" to the article. I stick by my response.

I think that you are misunderstanding the use of "Like" on Facebook Socks.

In these circumstances it means that you appreciate the efforts that the poster has gone to in order to bring something of importance into the light.
Rather than meaning that you find the photographs attractive.

If that's the case you are quite correct Bob. My lack of understanding. As I said I never have used it through lack of mistrust. Now I am aware.

I am not too sure on that one Bob :-k ... I myself I would never click a like on something like that, is it just me or are there others on here that would click the ' like ' button?

I do understand that clicking the like button also makes others aware of the post and it does not just mean you ' like ' it,,, serves dual purpose....but I feel its inappropriate (but just my opinion) :?

Like Button for the Web

The Like button is the quickest way for people to share content with their friends.

A single click on the Like button will 'like' pieces of content on the web and share them on Facebook. You can also display a Share button next to the Like button to let people add a personal message and customize who they share with.
https://developers.facebook.com/docs/pl ... ike-button

While natural speaking English posters might well worry about using a button called "Like" in order to share graphic images with their friends I am pretty certain that Thai (& Cambodian) users are totally unaware that the button could possibly represent anything more than a way to 'thank' the poster & onward share the information.
It is, possibly, an inappropriate & inaccurate use of the word 'Like' on the button by Facebook, rather than inappropriate actions by the users.

I had a chat with a Welsh friend of mine in Makro earlier and it could be a Belgian gentleman who has passed away, he is believed to have a partner ( wife / g-f ) not known. Unfortunately as his landlord is away for the about a month I do not see any movement on proper name etc : Sorry folks best I can do . The police will know of course not that they would tell any one .
