I do'nt understand why they not have english subtitles, i think i could put up with the Thai soundtrack as long as i could read and understand what the film was about.

Just guessing HB,but the Thai movies are cheaply made productions with the exception of a few!Prices of theater tickets are really low compared to other countries. There are not enough customers to support the costs! The extra cost would not be supported by the Thai audience if they had to raise ticket prices!

I tried to explain to my TGF that in most countries they show foreign films with the original soundtrack and have subtitles for the locals. She just kept saying, "This Thailand, so movie talk Thai." ](*,)

I can't stand it back home when a foreign movie is dubbed in English. I think it really changes the impact of the movie, but over here it's standard procedure for everything to be dubbed in Thai. :-#

Works both ways :? Rented a film called "Fly Boys" last month and got the English version with Thai sub-titles 8)
The wife wasn't interested even though I told her it was a damn good film to do with pilots in WW1.
What came on Udon Cable a few days later?
You got it! "Fly Boys",No sub-titles,all in Thai, and who sat through it loving every minute?
You got it,The Wife!
