Mr. Sushi - new Japanese on Srichumchen Road

Yes I also posted this under member's reviews, though believe it appropriate to annouce here, as this restaurant will likely be of interest to many readers who may not check readers reviews.

Mr. Sushi opened 6 days ago. 50 meters northwest of Le Cellini, opposite Electric Company, on Srichumchen Road.

The name is not a good descriptor as they have a full range of ala carte Japanese offerings, similar to say FUJI chain in Thailand, with sets around 140 baht, or simiple Yakisoba noodles with pork and veggies about 65 baht, or MK style suki pots boiling on the table. 20% off the bill through November 15th as they have a grand opening promotion. Ample parking, nice big aircon place, good atmosphere, they are trying hard with service eg lots of bowing as in Japan. They are already getting quite a bit of trade. Check it out and give comments.

My wife and I went today for lunch around 1PM. Quite a few people there....good service, all we ordered was very good or better than Oishi. 20% discount until mid-November. Don't be fooled by the waiters/waitresses bowing whenever they serve you, I'm pretty sure they're all Thai.
A welcome dining addition to that end of town!

Stopped in for lunch today. Very good food and service, IMO.
E-Z parking, spacious sitting area, good A/C, plus two glassed in private dining rooms for larger groups.
They even have something called "Japanese Pizza", we didn't order it, but the people at the next table did and said it was good.

I agree, it's good more places are opening outside of the congested Central area.

Yes good point. I was thinking about that yesterday when I was caught up in traffic on Phosi Road, it took me 20 minutes to travel just 3km.

Hey Papa...is that all of the menu? I notice a distinct lack of sashimi and anything like fatty tuna nigiri. I do loves me some sushi, so perhaps a visit is in order.

Okonomiyaki is usually what is referrred to as Japanese pizza, not sure if this is what they have at Mr. Sushi, though probably.

This is why I need to learn to read Thai! I totally missed that the menu was interactive and had more pages. ;) Thanks Papa...

Just got back home after a good pigout at this restaurant. :D

Opening times 11am-9.30pm,plenty of parking as mentioned but seriously lacking any shade for your car.Lunch times are 11am-3pm so some dishes not available but ,with over 300 to choose from, plenty of repeat visits for me and the TW even after the promotional 20% discount.Looks like it can easily seat 250,was getting busy once we left and driving out saw I think Papaguido just walking in. :D
Also on the menu Aussie beef teriyaki at 470 baht or Aussie steak 470,NZ mussels 190(picture shows 7 given) so maybe while the discount is on try these to reduce those prices by 20%.
The final bill for 2 of us 789 baht which included 2 large Asahi,a couple of points, mention no ice in your glass as they pile it in and you end up losing the taste of the beer, and the change was given back as 2 100 bahts and small change.Appropriately changed the 100 to leave some smaller notes, cheeky to think I would leave them a large note as a tip [-X

If you like mussels, four of us probably ate a kilo of them a few nights ago at the Nikuya Japanese Grill (nikuya-japanese-grill-t23191.html)....along with a boatload of tender beef, shrimp, squid, pork, veggies, fruit.......all you can eat in two hours....for 450baht per person, service charge included.

I do plan to stop back at Mr. Sushi and have more of their yakisoba....very delicious and just right (for me) for lunch.

Yes that was me ;)

Not much for me to add, it's all been said. Well maybe except for the yakisoba, they got the taste down right, but skimpy on the ingredients. Unlike Oishi Ramen, plenty of ingredients but the taste is off.

Been back a few times to get my fix of Yakisoba at 65 baht and Kimuchi at 45 baht and will continue to do so,funnily enough seems to be quiet there now,I wonder why :-k
Anyways end up ordering takeaways most times as no atmosphere,Thais love discounts on food and when it expires, back to the noodle shops
