multiple entry Non-Immigrant O visa Re entry 90 days.

Postby malc123 » September 16, 2009, 12:32 am

My one year multiple entry Non-Immigrant O visa exspires on the 2nd October 09, to get the extra 90 day stamp, how close to the exspire date should I do my Visa run to Nong Kai to insure I will not have a problem. Maybe some one has done this before with this yearly Visa.

Thanks

As long as you come back into Thailand on the 2nd, your visa is valid & they will give you 90 days. I have only ever done it earlier for personal convenience - to steer clear of Saturday & Sundays which seem to be busy border crossing days... :D

Exactly as Bob says, I do this every year, go get a final 90 days the day before the visa expires, never a problem.

Visas are valid until; not through. Immigration officer can refuse visa entry on the 2nd. Entry should be made on the 1st or before. The old stamps had "used before" which made it even clearer.

I have decided to go down this road next year. I am absolutely fed up with being treated like a puppet on a string.Every year a different string is being pulled. For the next renewal of my retirement visa I have first to go to the Brit embassy Bangkok for a verification letter of my pension. This will cost me with travelling , accomodation etc, I estimate 10k. I will have to transfer sufficient funds in, I don't keep much in Thailand, for amongst the obvious safety reasons ,you have got to add the dismal interest rate that they give to foreigners. I will have to pay the bank for the letter and accept whatever the rate of exchange may be on the day.Which shouldn't be neccessary as my pension is way over the annual sum required. Then upon the issue of the renewal I will have the idignity of being treated like a criminal on probation, reporting my where abouts every 90 days.If during this period I want to go out of the country, I will have to get expensive re-entry visa's.So I have decided on a trip back to the UK every 15 months. I can enjoy a holiday. Possibly save money and most of all , stick two fingers up to the immigration puppet masters. What I would like to know. Is it possible to obtain a multi entry visa to Laos to avoid any hassles or should I just go to Singapore where I don't need a visa.?

tb,
If you are going to get a Multi-Entry Non Immigrant O Visa for Thailand back in the UK why are you thinking about going to Singapore or obtaining a Laos Multi Entry ?
Surely when you are back in Thailand you will just do the Friendship Bridge crossing to Laos every 90 days for the validation of your visa ?
I'm not sure you can get a Laos Multi Entry anyway.Singapore you get 30 days, but expensive to go to,and Malaysia you get an automatic 90 days.
Did you know if you are over 50 and married to a Thai you can currently get a Multi-Entry Non-Immigrant O Visa for Thailand from Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia.KL seems to be the only place in the region that will currently give Multi-Entry Non O's.....the next nearest is Perth in Australia.
If you are not married you will have to obtain the visa back in the UK.
Hope this helps.

If your pension is over the required amount ie TBH65k per month, you don't need a bank letter - just certification from the Brit Embassy.

And if you are going back to the UK, why not get a multi non O-A, which means you don't have to send any money to Thailand, you can come and go as you please in the first 12 months, and if you leave and re-enter just prior to the end of 12 months, you get another 12 months for free. And no 90 day bridge crossings required.

I suspect you are asking about multi entry to Laos to cover 90 day border runs. Have not heard of them having such a visa but never checked. As for account money/bank letter are you sure it is still being required if you have the 65k in monthly earnings? Believe some unique NK things have changed recently (will you even be using NK under the new office structure?). As for NK believe they have advised they will accept the same letter for 3 years so that cuts expense a great deal. As for interest you obtain the same as a Thai and have the option to use fixed deposit account for higher rates (although none are that high currently).

multiple entry Non-Immigrant O visa Re entry 90 days.

Postby frenchFARANGbkk » March 30, 2012, 2:58 am

Hello,

Can I know how works a Non-O visa ?

You can go out and come back to Thailand as many times as you want during one year without paying anything more but your visa 1 time ? (5000 thb ?)

Then just cross the border and come back right away every 90 days ?

Thanks for your info.

Postby Chriss » March 30, 2012, 10:12 am

Yes as long as your Non Imm O is a multiple entry.
I have also been told by a Consulate in the UK that officially when you leave the country after 90 days you must stay out for 48 hours, in my experience and speaking with others you just go round the border and nothing is said.

multiple entry Non-Immigrant O visa Re entry 90 days.

Postby Mosquito » March 30, 2012, 10:36 am

Quick Question: I'm on a Non "O" retiree visa (Thai-American Daughter) that expires mid next month. It wasn't a multi-entry visa and only cost 2k last year.

I like the idea of making monthly over-nite runs (mainly getting cigs and alcohol), what's the cost of a multi-entry visa and are there any additional requirements from single entry Non "O" Visa.

Have:
- empty pages in the passport / passport valid for another 2 years.
* entry and last 90 report slip.
- pension letter more than covers requirements for a single entry non "O" visa
- House Blue Book / Land Certificates
- Daughter Birth Certificate
- Map to house
- Copy of GF's ID Card, and Copies of previous 4 items on the list.
- Passport Photo X2
** Am I missing anything?? **
- Seem to remember a multi-entry visa cost around 6-7k, worth it as it cost me 1k (plus the Lao border fee) everytime
I made a trip to Laos for cigs and alcohol.

multiple entry Non-Immigrant O visa Re entry 90 days.

Postby douglas » March 30, 2012, 1:51 pm

Hi,
Mos. If you have a "O" vtsa that expires next month, and have all the doc's. you say. Why not go for a permission to stay in LOS. This costs 1900B for 12 months, and i used to be on one, no need for border runs, just report to Udon Imm., every 90 days, mainly to check your address. Only thing is that if you leave LOS, you must fill in a form, cost 1000B, single entry, from Imm. can get a multi one but i do not no the cost., or when you come back you will only get a PTS depending what country you came from, Can be 15 to 30 days.
Go down to Udon Imm., or fax. them 042 249984 or phone 042 249982=3
Hope this helps, Doug.
