Stayed here in May never again. The room smelled of damp and there was mildew on the walls, the lighting pendant was bare the cover was off exposing live terminals, wall sockets wern't much better and top cap it all the carpet was heavily stained and an iron had been dropped on it leaving the inprint on the carpet. The staff were not helpfull with only 1 of thm speaking English at reception. Breakfast was dour came down 1 morning about 5 mins after 10 and the breakfast was finished had to pay for a coffee. The best thing about the place was the front of house porter friendly and very helpfull.

It seems to have fallen far from two summers ago. The only complaint I had about it at that time was that the wifi was very weak and unreliable.

If you look on the web site the comments left by customers (OK, not many) over the last year wouldn't exactly encourage me to go. Mind you some of the comments (re condition of rooms) I could have written for the Grand as well :( :(

It looks, on the whole, as though everything was going relatively well for the Napali until about April this year. Maybe they had a change of management. What's conspicuous by their absence is the lack of any further reviews after May. Did you post a review up, Vlad?

As I recall, a Chinese gentleman owned it two years ago. I wonder if he sold it?

Well, a couple of my mates will be coming up to see me in Udon this month so I won't be booking them into this place. Thanks for the heads up.

The system works.

Stayed there for 2 nights a couple of years ago. It was my first visit to Udon. I loved my introduction to Udon but I will not be staying at the Napali again.

On the plus side they have a nice swimming pool and the grounds are attractive. The rooms are acceptable for Thailand standards and Mambo disco on Friday nights is not to be missed. This disco has a very good show on stage and go-go dancers on the central bar counter. Very loud music for those who don't like noise. But I can't praise Mambo disco enough. \:D/

As for the minus side, well I turned up there without a booking. There were about 2 or 3 cars in a very generous size carpark and when I asked is there a vacancy I was told no we are full. Then she checked the computer and said she has 1 room for 1 night only. You could fire a gun in the place and not hit anyone!!!

Stayed the night and when checking out in the morning I asked out of curiosity is there any rooms and the young lady (day shift now) said yes we have many many rooms. :fryingpan:

So I stayed one more night and thoroughly enjoyed Udon but totally frustrated with the language barriers encountered at the Napali.
Such is life.

I used to have breakfast at its coffee shop many years as it is 10 mins. drive from my house at surburb area. To my
last time dining at its coffee shop, I've found no matter its food or service have been deteriorated   . I won't get there any more.
