Netherlands 163-6 beat England 162-5 by four wickets

Postby tamada » June 6, 2009, 12:41 pm

Well.... what can I say, eh?

Gordon Brown under seige as MP's of all ilks have been busted sucking on the taxpayers tit.

And now the creme de la creme of English cricketing soundly thrashed AT HOME by those wizards of wicketry, the blazing bats and blistering bowling of the.... Dutch? Howzat?!

This on top of the news that droves of Polish workers are fleeing Albion's fare shores for destinations with more bang for the zloty. I mean, who's going to fix the bloody plumbing NOW, eh?

"It's the end of the world as we know it (but I feel fine)."

Well there is really nothing to say to this.
Apart from pointing out that I checked the BBC to ensure that tamada was not winding me up - which, unbelievably, he wasn't....
Yeah can't wait for The Ashes to start :( :( :(

:yikes: W G Grace must have turned in his grave.
I'm thinking over whether to return. Well, I'm now capable of sticking two pieces of pvc together, my bowling used to be economical and, seemingly, just about anyone might make a better job of governing the country.
Nah, that idea passed quickly.

I am not one to put the boot in when a team is down.

I will wait for the ashes for that. Just Kidding, was this a full strength team. Missed the news, computers keep crashing might have to call a pommie mate.

Yeah they did, just looked it up

Dont worry to much about these games, as its hit and giggle stuff, marketed for the sub continent. Good TV ratings and thats about all.

The worrying issues are Peiterson and Flintoff and Im not having a dig here , these guys are match winners, they can turn a test in 1 hour as we have seen with Freddies 2005 effort ! but with both having some injuries ??

For the Ashes to be won by England, both these guys need to hit their straps, bringing with them the confidence of the other players.

I still say the 2005 Ashes series was one of the best ever and the best team won.

There wont be a 5-0 whitewash this series, like Glen McGrath predicted last time.

its going to be close, Australia developing again after loosing so many star players and England winning at home recently and their confidence up.

Bring it on

Agree Wazza, Peiterson and Flintoff make all the difference to England.

However I think Englands biggest loss is Jones not playing. He was virtually unplayable last test series in the UK. Made all the difference. Harmison, Sidebottom and Broad don't fill me with much confidence. :(

Dont write of Anderson !

Your tails are up write now and thats something to work on, its worth a diving catch, a slide to save a 4, an extra 5 kmh on a short one when Ponting comes in at # 1 etc....

Bit of a revival by the English team against Pakistan & they now go through to the next stage..

England bounced back from their ignominious loss to the Netherlands with a 48-run win over Pakistan which guarantees their progress into the Super Eight phase of the ICC World Twenty20.

Uum, maybe the ashes will not be such a forgone conclusion.
I read that Flintoff is back bowling for his county again - a real must is that he plays with the ball & bat for England to have a chance.
Second Australia slump out of the world 20/20 having lost both games....

(In fairness the Australian league was a little stronger than the English one....but still..... :D :D )

Bob

Totally agree on the Ashes series, see my prev comments.

This will be 2 new sides basically , Johnson and Clarke being the key bowlers for Australia.

Clarke is a copy of McGrath , bowls to a line 95% of the time.

Both sides will score runs, its the 20 wickets needed to won a test match that will challenge both sides.

Lucky Super Sports on Home Cable will cover the series, but lets sit back, crack a can, and enjoy the series.
