Although it may not be fair to some of the newer members, I tend to give more credence to the content of posts from those who:
1. Are, or have been,” active posters” and
2. Have been members for some considerable time
Active posters are (IMHO) most easily discernible by a “pictorial” ranking system, less easily from a posts total - however it should be noted that being an “active poster” carries no guarantee that the content of what they post is actually worth reading.
Those who have been members for some time can be worked out from the date they joined, however some form readily discernible “pictorial” ranking system would help – however, as above, it should be noted that being a member of long standing also carries no guarantee that the content of what they post is actually worth reading.
Familiar “avatars” can also be useful (currently being covered in other threads) - however these are not always unique to any one individual.
As an aside, those who have a history of posting rubbish and peddling their own prejudices and ideologies I tend to ignore – I find it disappointing that the maturity in years of some members seems to be incapable of being translated into posts which are mature, objective and accurate in their content.
