Arjay,

Obviously some interesting posts here and I think your probably getting a sense of how people feel, in particular newbies. I do appreciate your mail and on one part I will take your advice but on another I find it hard to. It seems from your opinion that newbies should fall in line and know their place before standing up for themselves.

Dont you agree that the MAP needs new blood and dont you agree that if newbies are attacked by the likes of JS as i was on another post that probably most of them will just dissapear? This of course would and obviously is very bad for the Map with the usual suspects running the show. What i dont like is now we have two sides, us, the newbies and you lot, the clique! Its not up to the newbies to try to 'fit in' with the clique, its up to the clique to realise this isnt their personal automobile to tear someone a new one just becasue they dont like what they read.

Funman wrote:Here here, that's pretty much the way I see it too. Obviously the mods don't care about the people that provoke posters, only about the responders. Such a clique here! Like "Are all the the girls immature" being said a "generalization" where if it was posted "why are all Thai girls immature". Are all and why are all are two different meanings. Why is a generalization, not "are all".
When I first came to Udon I was introduced to a man in the Clock by Doc McCoy. Before he shook my hand he asked Doc if I belonged to UM. When Doc said yes, he shook my hand. Was there supposed to be some kind of "secret handshake"? Or maybe the key to the executive washroom? There are a few that get by with just plain harassing others and I do believe it's against the forum guidelines! Arjay, please respond!

It seems like there is a few of us who think the same. Who knows how many posters have been scared of by what they have read here recently?
Don't get me wrong, I am not having a go at this board, just making an observation.

Im not having a go at the board either but just wanting to see things become fairer where everyone is entitled to their opinion and if you dont agree with theirs to put forth an alternate respectful opinion without attacking someone which is what happened to myself.

Im a resonable person and i expect someone to be reasonable when dealing with me, am i wrong?

What's the matter with you knobheads. So fickle. Just say whatever you want (within the rules) and take some of the responses on the chin.
OK, let's put it another way, if everyone agrees with everyone else and pats each other on the back, which does happen on the other Udon forum, would you be the slightest bit interested in that forum. OT's no expert, but a forum where posters say what they want and challenge other posters remarks is interesting. I would say that all newcomers are welcome on Udon Map providing they are not homos and start crying when they don't get the response they are looking for.

So you are saying that petemcc should not have been banned and Dermot should not have had the reaction he has received, both it seems from the now notable absent posters?
Just challenging!

Why do I get the feeling petemcc has been reincarnated?

OT's moderator application form got thrown in the waste paper basket at UM HQ, which I was a bit surprised about because I thought I has something to offer. Personally speaking I wouldn't have banned petemcc, I would have deleted everything he said. I don't know what your referring to with Dermot so I won't comment, but what I will say is that I think you are getting a little bit paranoid and kicking up a fuss about nothing.
Let me ask you, when you started your first job or went to school for the first time or did anything for the first time, did it or did it not take a while to get settled in and get the general idea of what was going on around you, or did you run to your boss or teacher or whoever else and say everyone is picking on me ?

I do find your posts most entertaining I have to say and take them in the spirit in which they are meant!

The word paranoid has been quoted here many times, perhaps it refers to you :(

Come and see me in November and see who I am.

Dermot (and others) you make comments which suggest Mods only caution Newbies. There are many things which go on behind the scenes that you and most posters are not aware of. And there is more than one way to make a point, or skin a cat (choose your phrase to suit). Just because you don't see sledgehammers being used for cracking nuts, doesn't mean that matters aren't addressed or followed through, in an appropriate way. Some make their points a lot more subtly than others. :-k ;)

To put my other point a little more directly, as you seem to prefer the direct approach, (as I said before) Newbies would gain more acceptance if they were not so contentious, aggressive or argumentative (particularly in their first few posts). :-k

Aarjay, i agree with you 100% but go back and look if was the instigator or the responder.....

Your comments are well recieved arjay and please dont think they are not but in the spirit of fairness to everyone new and old posters alike, I only responded to a very silly post that was meant to anger. The same poster has now started again on the same thread. He doesnt seem to want to add to the debate just point out things that he perceives Ive said wrong. H doesnt add to anything, he takes away. if you dont believe me just look at he post he made today on my thread!

Dermot, may I draw your attention to the above part of my previous quote. Please keep that in mind.

A wise older member once said to me if someone is troubling you, don't reply, - starve them of oxygen. I ask you both to keep that in mind.

In the meantime, I'm off to bed now, my wife went more than an hour ago. :-"

Dermot, why do you feel the need to reply with puerile statements just because somebody disagree's with you?
