Nice resort around Udon?

Anyone knoe about a nice resort type hotel around Udon? I'm going down for a couple of weeks in late August and want somethin special for my GF. Last time we spent in Pattong and the time before that on Ban Chiang in Udon. Thjis time I would like something in a bungalow style with nice swimming pools and good restaurants, but I can't seem to find these types of places in Udon (no offence, but I'm not into low budget bungalows).

Check out Thomas resort (on line) a few k out of town but has transport daily into centre...nice clean resort....never stayed there but have checked it out

i have been there at least 15 times ,very nice place.

What in the way of resturants are there Farang ?

good food,cheap.
but more important, the bar has 3 pool tables and cheap beer.
