NO FOOD-AUSSIE bar in Nutty Park.

Postby Sport » October 18, 2011, 10:53 am

Food will not be available at the AUSSIE bar from Mon 24 Oct for about 3 weeks. The cook is having a holiday, doing a bit of beach fishing and hunting down a few pigs in the scrub back home. We will let you know when it resumes.

Otherwise the bar will remain open and operate as usual. There is no problem for customers to obtain food from El Diablo or Nans bar (next door) and eat it in my place.

Statts I wish I could bring a stack of fresh ocean fish from OZ for the bar, but near impossible. Night time beach fishing with a 12' rod waiting....and waiting... for the big sharks or jewfish to come through, in the middle of nowhere with a couple of mates, its well worth the effort, that is one of the things Thailand or Asia does not give me.

The feral pigs are a pest over there, just trying to help rid the country of them. Thirty years ago, Australia exported pig carcasses to Germany for human consumption, that ridded the place of many thousands, but what they eat it would make your stomach crawl, no thanks, just leave them on the ground or give the legs to the dogs.

Brings back memories of when I was doing duty as KP (Kitchen Police) in a mess hall at Ft. Ord, California, when a couple of guys brought a wild bore they had shot in the nearby foothills, into the kitchen. Yep, the next day, the main dish was pork.

But thats deep frozen. If you want a bit of fresh, as of killed this morning, try the market at the side of the road on the way to Nong Bua Lampho. about 5 k past the Nong Wau So traffic lights, they also have wild deer meat, either at 200bht per kilo . Can't guarantee every day but most days they have .

Not only was he boring, but he was very wild.

"Last night, I shot a wild boar in my pajamas. How it got in my pajamas, I'll never know", with apologies to Groucho.

Thanks for the spelling lesson, Arosolius.

Ah yes, Groucho. Fantastic wit Rick. Lots of his quotes on the Net. I like this one:

Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog it's too dark to read.
