No Sound

Postby Bear » September 22, 2008, 10:52 am

Ive downloaded Skype and it states I dont have sound device. Went through their problem solver and it appears I have no selected device. Ive listened to CDs in the past but maybe something Ive done recently has somehow removed this. How do I get sound again? Obviously I have speakers and microphone. Help appreciated....

Bear, if the speakers came with a CD I suggest that you try restoring from that.
If you don't have a CD then right button mouse click on the start button, go to setting, control panel. When that opens double click on 'Sounds & audio devices'. On the audio tab it should show you what hardware you have (same on sound recording & music). If you click on the Advanced option then it allows you to change the setup to exactly what you have..
p.s. if there is NOTHING showing on the audio tab then I suggest that you click on the 'Add Hardware" button on the control panel tab & let windows search for it...

Have you tried the "Add Hardware" & search for devices from the Control Panel??
