I bought my car on the 'never/never' about 6 months ago from a used car dealer on the opposite side of the road from the main Toyota dealer on what I think is called Tahon Tanon Road. The bank financing took ages to come in so every month for 4 months I went back there on 25th. to pay. Anyway in August he told me that I could now pay at the Bank. So September 25th. I arrive at the bank to pay, only to be told I am 10 days late & I should pay on the 15th. No problems...... So yesterday I arrive at the bank to pay this months instalment, only to be told by the bank that I have to pay 400 bhat for my late payment last month!!!
Not a happy bunny at all I leave the bank having forked out the extra 400 bhat. Bank say it is the dealers fault, he should have told me it was due on the 15th... I could just imagine the dealer saying it was the banks' fault....everyones fault but mine but Falang is still 400 bhat out of pocket...
Anyway, with heavy heart & lighter wallet I decide to go & see the dealer - slow day, nothing better to do.
To my utter amazement on me producing the receipt from the bank the dealer immediately apologized profusely & handed me 400 bhat..
OK so I am no better off than I was before I went to the bank but, frankly, I would be VERY surprised if a dealer in the UK would have done similiar. Also my car is not yet a year old so it is doubtful if I will be looking for another one for quite some time....However when I do look for a replacement I am certain exactly where I will be looking first!!!
