Ohhh Say Can You See?

Postby parrot » November 4, 2009, 3:01 pm

Passed by the new Udon shopping center going up across from AEK today. A crane was raising a large yellow M sign......there's only one store authorized to use those yellow arches.
Udon's really growing up!

almost happy my taste buds are still on the blink
We are getting a metro in Udon?

ok, that one lost me completely................getting to be a metropolitan area, maybe? now that the worst of globalization has arrived. or a little metro car/tram to take lazy sh*ts like me around the shopping center.

bored and just using up my internet minutes, may have to cut back to 50 hrs a month, 100 is way too many.

where is that BK at. hua hin is a long drive for almost quality fast food. think i ate there 3 times in 4 days, though, again, those taste buds, i could actually taste them, and had to burn them coupons up. couple whopper jr's, one free and a milkshake, what a meal.

Chit Lom near BTS

used to be a regular stop when in bkk, also paragon and most of shopping centers are starting to have them.

but i hit HH few times a year as a pit stop. favorite ma/pa shop closed up, night market is nothing special, one excellent restaurant, though short hop in car, usually hit that for nice dinners. but BK, seems to be a daily lunch stop for me, breakfast crossants also, but lately hotel has offered brekkie.

I'm glad it's going there and not as a 'stand-alone' on the ring-road or somewhere else.

I left the US.....why is the US following me??

"why is the US following me??"

Lay's potato chips, KFC, Pizza Company, Sizzler, Swenson's, Chevrolet, Levi's, Christmas songs in the complex......you can run, but you can't hide.

I don't mind so much when these places are tucked in a shopping complex. But when they're a stand-alone biz it's an eyesore; and there's no way to escape looking at it.

I can't say I'm Mc D's No. 1 fan, however the new building they're moving into looks quite smart. The area is starting to look much more pleasant now and certainly a big improvement from the waste land it was before.

The latest here in Oz is the "Big Angus Berger" Australian Angus beef instead of your average outback MooMoo. Have'nt tried one yet, but it has been a few years since I tried the cr@p last :-&

FYI, BK Central Chidlom/Ploenchit is gone.

Large BK is located in food court/restaurant area Ground Floor in SIAM PARAGON Mall

Big Angus burgers aren't anywhere in the McD's in BKK.. That's about 1500 calories for that gobswamper of a burger.. A day's calories in a meal..

nothing wrong with McD's in Udon.. We'll see how it does.. KFC adjusted to local tastes with a shifting locally oriented menu.. let's see if MCD's does the same..

and, if it flops?? it'll probably last a year before coporate bosses shut it down..
