Does anyone, probably thre golfers among you, know an average approximate size of an 18 hole golf course? In acres or hectares or even sq metres....

Sorry, can't help on acreage, but if your thinking what I think your thinking, IMHO Udon Thani has room for a "quality" 18 hole golf course.
Especially if you can incorpoate a quality housing developement with it.

Victory Park is the only 18 hole course and whilst a good course and clubhouse, is a little out of the way for Udon residants.

Thanks for the links provided, seems 120 acres is OK for a flat ground 18 hole course with small driving range. If my math is up to scratch thats about 300 Rai.........

Galee, You're on the right track, I've been asked to look into the possibility of just as you mentioned, but with executive style housing overlooking the course rather than a housing development village style

Looks like I need to source a decent sized area thats up for sale. Anyone have any ideas...........?????

Forgot to mention. If you go to Victory Park, on a wall in the clubhouse is a copy of the original plans of the golf course. This clearly shows that initially there were plans to build accomadation around the course.
Makes you wonder why it never materialized.

Hello there,

Before anyone jumps in too whole heartedly, you probably should know that you've been beaten to it. There are already plans in place to convert the best, udon thani, 9 hole course to 18 hole (sri thani ) and also land has been procured to do the same about 10 k south of victory parkin nong khai. both are thai developements as far as i know.

It is common knowledge at sri thani,(if you play there alot like me), and perparation work has already started.

The info about nong khai was attained from the owner/ boss of victory park.
