it,s not the game ,,
it is the slippery slimy paki b-------s
the most untrustworthy people, i have had the mis fortune to meet .

p.s. you can tell when a paki is lying ,
his lips move.
A tadge racist but couldnt agree more , im not on the fence on this one these buggars are as guilty as hell and should get the full punishment , death by stoning would suit this heanus crime But the ragheeds throwing would be paid to throw wides or no balls.

how do you stop a pakki from drowning - take your foot off his head !!

Would appear that very few sports or countries are immune from it.
From the original Olympic games on. Interesting reading.

On the cricket front I seem to recall a recent South African captain admitting it & several Australian players being done for it. So a slur just directed at Pakistan is probably uncalled for.... :(

Bob if you can remember any Aussie cricketers being done for match fixing, perhaps you ought to name them - because I certainly can't remeber any.

But I do agree the racist slurs are totally unecessary, and probably against forum rules. [-X

Sorry jack they were cleared after a 2 month inquiry.

but
Australian greats Shane Warne and Mark Waugh, fined in 1995 after admitting giving information on ‘the weather’ to an Indian called ‘John the Bookmaker’. The Australian cricket board kept that affair a secret for three years.

From memory John Higgins is Scottish! I think in tournaments won the greatest snooker player ever, so far is Stephen Hendry but you may correct me on this.

I had lost interest in the England v Pakistan matches as a sporting event after the News of the World scoop. I personally thought that the best way forward would have been to abandon the rest of the series. Sadly, money talks in cricket as much as any sport & so it was let continue.
Now this
ICC probes Pakistan's victory over England at The Oval
In a statement, Lorgat added: "A source informed The Sun newspaper that a certain scoring pattern would emerge during certain stages of the match and, broadly speaking, that information appeared to be correct.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/cricket ... 011427.stm

OK there needs to be an investigation, but it looks pretty plain to me...Someone tells the Sun "X will happen" before the game. X happens. Either a fluke, or the guy that told the Sun is a predictive genius, or there are a lot of players taking cash to ensure a chain of events happens. I know where my money is!! :(

Is this the end of this scandal now?? If writing a fiction book containing the details of this affair the publishers would probably tell you that it was all too far fetched to be anything like believable...
Boss of Croydon Athletic linked to match-fixing dies
David Le Cluse, 44, the chairman of Croydon Athletic Football Club, was found dead with a bullet wound on Saturday, in a garage in Sutton.

The club was probed for suspected money-laundering after its owner Mazhar Majeed was arrested over match-fixing allegations against the Pakistan team.

Two of the Pakistani cricketers involved ( Salman Butt and Mohammad Amir) have been appealing against the provisional ban that was put in place by the IIC until a full inquiry has been completed.
Those appeals have just been rejected & the pair are quoted as saying.
They have no evidence and it appears they are just trying to corner Pakistan
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/cricket ... 146950.stm

Hopefully the full inquiry will take place soon & a sensible decision reached. However I think that if the Pakistani players are relying on saying it all just been a huge co-incidence then I rather hope they get their just deserts...

A strange 'carry over" from this affair.
Pakistan are currently in Dubai playing South Africa.
Pakistan keeper Haider bound for UK after missing scare
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-south-asia-11709082
It seems the keeper had received a threatening message after the helping Pakistan level the series 2-2. Apparently that was not the result wanted..

Yep , he has done a runner, faster than any fieldsmen in that match.

The books were cooked for the match despite all the attention, and he copped a blast from a a seedy character, which he will later deny ever contacted him.

Placing the discussion on his Facebook for the world to read was clever also ! I wonder if the ICC have added him as a friend LOL

Time is ticking away for these guys, the ICC are just trying to work out a sub continent solution, with the problem already well and truly known.

And today the World Cricket ruling body says this...
ICC 'impressed' with PCB measures to protect integrity
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/cricket ... 164937.stm
You really have to wonder which planet they are on....
PCB chairman Ijaz Butt commented: "The PCB is determined to implement the recommendations provided by the ICC. We at the PCB, like the ICC, are committed to a zero-tolerance approach to any form of corruption."

Meanwhile, Pakistan's team manager Intikhab Alam has said three players have been fined for breaking curfew during the team's series against South Africa in the United Arab Emirates.

Alam stated opener Shahzaib Hasan, spinner Abdul Rehman and wicket-keeper Zulqarnain Haider were fined 500 dirhams (£85) for staying out late in Abu Dhabi where the series began in October.
It is still OK to accept a bung to lose, fluff the outcome & have to make a runner to the UK for safety, but stay out late & the wrath of the PCB will fall on you!!

The 2nd biggest voting block in the ICC, these corrupt mob are.

As i said before, it was always going to be a Sub continent solution, - Let them solve the issue internally .

CRAP

My faith has been lost 100% now, they had the chance and dropped it/
