Phone virus?

Postby muscle » January 7, 2007, 2:59 pm

I have Blackberry 7290. The internet features are useless here with the 1-2 Call Prepaid, but I am too cheap to buy another phone. No problem with the 300 baht cards until this week.
An hour or so after loading a card, I got a message saying that my account balance was low, then another. Then 24 messages saying that the number I was trying to call could not be reached because my balance was too low. I had not made a single call.
A few days later I added another card. Same thing happened.
Anyone experience this before?
I would plug the BB into my desktop and try to reload the software but if there is a virus I don't want it in my desktop as well.
Thanks.

just take it to AIS just before or after makro. they will test the sim card and see what's up, and replace if necessary. hope you still have to charge up cards. did you receive the standard msg that your phone was charged up 300 baht, then received msg on low balance. i receive numerous msgs saying i only have 29 min gprs left, always in error and never effect me, i just ignore them and check my balance.

i usually save my last msg from 1-2 call, stating amount and expiration of latest card to the phone, not sim card, just in case.

Thank you. I will try AIS. I did check the balance each time and both times it showed a balance of only 59 baht. One of the college kids that my wife knows says that there is a virus and that the only way around it is to buy a new SIM.
Thanks.

Muscle,
I had last week almost exactly the same problem.
My phone: Treo 650
Before no problem
last week, People couldn't call me and when I called I got one "peep" sound and finished.
I went to AIS, they told me it was because of the cable problems in Taiwan.
Bull....
I put my sim card in my old telephone, (also a USA Treo model) and everything works perfect now.
I will go back to AIS tomorrow. I hope I will calm down before I enter the office!!!!

Sounds just like whathappened to me. Some of the school kids in the neighborhood echoed that story. I bought a new SIM but haven't put it in yet. I am trying to avoid reloading the software on the BB. Let me know what happens.
