I am led to believe that the French merely offered all the documents relating to the Franco - Siam Treaty, and all the cartograpy since the 20th century..this might have helped both sides reach a bi lateral agreement.

The Thai government is trying to appease the yellow shirts by starting a mini war with Cambodia. They are afraid of the yellow shirts because they cannot control them or what they may do. I am sure they would not shoot them even if they behaved like the red shirts did. It is all more political b.s. with more people dying for nothing.

Strange form of appeasement by the govt, when they stick a bundle of the yellows in prison for the airport takeover. :-k

They also don't seem to have gone out of their way to get Veera back from Cambodia. :-k :-k

I reckon you need to catch up with what is happening today, jyy. :D

The government had to make some effort to show they are punishing the yellows after they killed a bunch of red shirts for basically doing the same thing regarding protests. The yellows will not spend much time in jail and getting convicted prisoners from another country is not an easy task even if they wanted to. If the government did not show some kind of action regarding this border dispute the yellows would bring this government down and they know it. It is just politics.

Will US get involved,?

http://www.bangkokpost.com/breakingnews ... ian-border

F16 and F18 fighter aircraft from Thailand, Singapore and US flew close to the border with Cambodia by "mistake."? Whose kidding who? These kites are fitted with electronic wizardry that can place a missile within 50cm of its target and they were 10kms off course .? Seems a dangerous "game' to be playing to me . Raises the question . Should the US have any presence here at a time when Thailand is in conflict with its neighbour, who is likely to receive support from a member country of the EU.? Tactically I would have thought they would have kept well away from the border . :-"
