Lets start this game over...

If you can beat (higher) the price post it with name of bar. Lets keep it simple and stipulate A/C and non A/C. Keeping out the extra service type places like Karaoke, live music, discoteque.

My best is Vicky bar (Day & Night), non AC large leo 120bt

Orange Moon, AC 100bt spy

So come on someone beat those prices and start the game (negative price war)

All posters seem to be trying to prove how cheaply they can live here and forgetting the one real reason that you are here....to have fun and have a better standard of life than back at home....

1. Why don't you treat yourself now and again...if only once a month or whatever..

2. Leave the wife at home:

3. If at 1st need assistance in putting hand in pocket...go to glyns 1st and drink yourself stupid with his ridiculously low priced menu....(food is good too)

4. Go to the Wolverine Go Go bar and sit right at the front in prime position.

5. Ask yourself, '' have any of these girls got anything my wife has not got''?

6. Really go over board and buy one of them a drink...(Now you are exploring enjoying yourself)

7. Refrain from sleeping with any of them...(If price puts you off go back to no 1.)

8. Go back home and tell your wife all about your night out including the Wolverine experience....tell her you are the boss and I like to have a night out now and again...

9. Now you are either dead or you have a good understanding wife...

10. Plan next months night out.......

1. i do, every week, Irish clock, relax, listen to good music, internet, and once in a while follow Steve out front while he has a puff, and watch the red uniforms across the street, hopefully walking around. a lot shake with those fries

can we stick with beer. a better judge, as anything is i would consider a specialty drink, and not a good judge. as i didn't notice orange moon's beer prices as being out of range. bought a few, so must not of been too bad.

so far, for me Full Moon, but as you mention, have little extra.

one of my favorites, tawan daeng, ordered lg heiny, 120 i think, tigers were 100. still a little high, even though free live music.

obviously i don't get out much, or experiment. i'm in the lg/sm beer pricing catagory. if i can buy a large at a place for a bit more that a small someplace else, i'm drinking there. so i don't frequent places that only sell small, though if having a business, that

But i would revist bars / pubs that charge 90Baht and have similar enterntainment or services.

Couldn't think of anywhere else to post this, The new Harley O'Tools gets my thumbs up, like many (I expect) I had the impression this place would be over-priced. Very pleasantly surprised to find Spy red and San migel both at a reasonable 60bt a bottle. The place has been well planned, John has steered clear of AC, taken out the windows and replaced with shutters which fully open up front and back, he has then placed a ceiling fan every 4 sqm, the place was very cool on Saturday night, although the outside temp wasn't, and that was with a crowd in there. If your like me I don't like venturing into new bars to often in case they are rip-off gaffs (stick to what you know attitude), but there's no worries with this new bar, and it's got a different feel to it, I hope it succeeds, cos that'll put our theory to test 'if you charge fair prices, more people will come'

Probably not. Just a lot of cheap charlies wanting to fill their guts with the cheapest beer and have no consideration for the bar owner. Yesterday we paid 160B for large San Mig at a small bar (non aircon and was cool) in Victory Monument (BKK), off the tourist track and we said the price was reasonable. The bar owner has to make some money.

The cheap charlies up Udon way want the bars to operate without a profit margin or force the owners to lower their prices to that effect. No wonder Isaan is known as the cheap charlie area of Thailand for farangs.
