Tennis Madrid

Post by BobHelm » October 18, 2008, 10:31 pm

I have just seen that Andrew Murry (from Scotland) has just beaten Roger Federer in the semi-finals at Madrid, in 3 sets.
He was the number 4 seed - Federer was number 2 - and a great result for him.
Sadly it looks like he will have to face Nadal in the final, in Spain, so no easy thing to win even now :D :D :D

However I do think congratulations are in order even if he goes down in 2 sets in the final - but he did beat Nadal in the semi-final of the US Open, so all is not lost.... :D

Well, wrong again... :( :( :(
Thank god I have more than enough sense ever to bet on sports (or anything else).
Murry will face Simon, who beat Nadal in 3 sets on the tie breaker - after looking dead & buried too many times to mention.
Still not an easy game for Murry, Simon has dropped the first set in every match & still won.....

Andy Murray is having a tremendous spell at the moment with him reaching the US Final and now Madrid.
I think he may well win one of the major championships in the next couple of years.
Just when I thought our chance had passed, you go and save the best for last.

I love the British newspapers when they report on Murray.

When he is winning, he is British.
When he has lost and got knocked of a competition he is a Scot.

Well Murray did it, in 2 sets.
His 4th. ATP title of the season (although the "big ones" are still eluding him).
Congratulations, certainly deserving his number 4 status in the world...
