ounds like a good system to me. I have set up one for watering the yard not using the. But the house level is to high for that. But we can get water from the tank when the electicity goes out. They used to fill up here at night as well four years ago. There so many people using it during the day no pressure wahtsoever. Next project is to get the laundry water diverted to the lawn instead of the drain. Man they use a lot of water doing laundry. Hose just sits there running. Before you ask yes we have a washing machine not excatly sure why. Wife does the laundry by hand and then puts the clothes washer.

She is bit strange about that one that is the one thing she will not let the housekeeper do, Go figure

Float valve if your going to be gone that long hope someone is checking it to for you. I have yet to get one that worked right more then short time. Above ground you can se it if it over fill below ground can't see it unless you open the cover.

Man that does sound good.

Maybe when I grow up. I'm finding I have ran out of room for trees. So maybe when I grow up I will try building a place again. That's one that can drive you to tears or violence #-o

and it's much appreciated, LA. Thanks. Float valve in the water tank is working fine, so far. Will remind the caretaker to keep an eye on it when we make any extended trips.

Lots of water, electrical outlets/capacity, nice job putting this house together. =D>

Had the "early hours only" water problem 2 years back. Fitted a ballcock into the tank and now leave the valve open 24/7. When the water comes it fills, when it gets to the top the ballcock shuts it off just like the loo cistern.
UNFORTUNATELY .......... we haven't had any supply (day OR NIGHT) for the last 5 days .... village boss contacted water board, and was told there isn't enough water and what there is the people nearer the centre are taking first ........ well ! what are you doing about it? ....... err nothing TIT
Looks like the B250 water vans are going to get a regular order, and I'm going to smell of over chlorinated water for a few weeks.
And guess what ..... my water bill arrived today

A few days ago the water pressure in Soi Jintakam almost doubled. It was ok before but now the water seems a lot cleaner also.

with a 96 % literacy rate here, you'd think the little lady could pay attention to details. we shop at ngee soon, lotus, makro and for some items at those stores, we stock up if on sale. so, in the shower, no damn shampoo..............honey...............what do i get..............not my regular shampoo, been using for years, a different one......................honey, WTF................i can't use this, it's for long hair............you'd think she could read.

now, if i can only find my skin whitening roll on deodorant. and yes, they actually sell that, wow, with that, i can shave my armpits, and not worry about skin cancer, or look like a chocolate skinned rice farmer.............oh happy days.
:frying pan: :frying pan: :frying pan: :frying pan: :frying pan: :frying pan:  8)

hmm, always thinking about buying a bike, wonder if she comes with it, could definitely make the sale. :guiness:

Sorry guys, off topic here. Just curious about blighty. I know it refers to the UK, but where is blighty derived from?

Ignornant American... :)[/quote]

'Blighty' was used by soldiers in the first and second world wars. It was first used by soldiers in the Indian army and is derived from the Urdu word 'bilayati' meaning 'foreign' or 'european'.

Back on topic, parking - my (ex) girlfriend did drive very carefully and slowly, but told me she never had any lessons, she just bought a car (driven home for her) and started practicing. Not certain what she did to get a licence. But the lack of training shows when it comes to parrallel parking - At Nong Prajak one day during orchid exhibition took her 10 minutes to get into a quite easy spot. Had to resist temptation to ask for keys.

Ah that might not be because she is a new driver, more likely because she's a female. Was there a large queue of drivers behind you and were they patient?

Fortunately was not holding the traffic up because the road was wide there. Well, do not like to criticise purely based on male/female, but obviously had had no instruction on reversing other than 'stick gear lever here'. By the way, just realised i was posting an answer to a 4 year old post  silly me.

Not silly, this is a long running thread designed to post any frustrations you may want to vent....bah humbug. A bit like BM's Pattaya Stories or Pop's Humour thread. It just chunters along.
