not sure where at, but if clicking on 'Map', then zoom out, you'll see the hwy 2/22 intersection at big c, then try to track from there........good luck

it's very close to our house, and also near scott/jetdoc, i know the area, but not sure on directing you. turn at street past global (heading from NK rd to big c), a left. if you turned right, that would be nong bua, not sure if called same on other side of ring rd. go down till Si Surat, a right, then back there. nong bua/ring rd intersection has the wat on other side of road. also not sure if si surat, is good road back there, looks like it gets small or dirt. or, as you get closer to big c, past a/c place, slow down, and at the school, turn left to the parallel street, and follow that back.......good luck again 8-[

Stan, on the "map" Lee provided click "Map". Then click the - sign a couple of times, so it will zoom out until you can recognise a few landmarks (like the airport). This will give you a basic idea of where it is & then you can click on the + sign to zoom in to show you exactly...

I see from the small roads around there it may take some driving around to find on the ground. Menu seems quite cheap :D . Would be useful to have some more info on fishing prices and fish available, but their website seems to be a fairly good effort for a new venture (I assume).

Will certainly be on my list for a trip next visit.

Wow Stan, way too difficult!! I'm going there this afternoon (an American friend of mine, Larry Hennick, owns the place but I haven't been there yet). I called him for directions. This is what he gave me and I'll translate for you coming from Nong Khai:
1. at Nong Khai / ring-road intersection going South, turn left onto ring-road towards Big C
2. turn left at the second traffic light - Nong Bua road light
3. stay on this road for about 2 km into the town of Nong Sua
4. in town you will see a new sandstone wall on the right and 2 public phone booths side-by-side
5. turn right immediately after the phone booths onto a concrete road
6. on this road you'll cross another concrete road after about 1 km, no stop sign, go straight through
7. after approx. 1 more km on the left you'll see a very dilapidated old Thai house on stilts with a dirt road going to the right... take this right turn - it's like the drive way to the fishing park. Dirt road.
8. continue straight down this road - don't turn left when opportunity arises - and you'll enter the park.

There may be an easier way, but this is pretty straight forward... \:D/

I just got back from the fish park.. here's a couple of minor corrections to my instructions above.

3. it's closer to 3 km not 2
5. the 2 phone booths are in front of the new wall, proceed another 60 meters to the right turn
6. it's just over 1 km to the concrete road crossing
7. it's just under 1 km to the dipapidated house... it's not really a house, more like just what used to be a house but it's easy to spot and the dirt road to the right is immediately in front of the structure
8. about 3-400 meters down this road (right side is lined with gum trees) you come to the turn-off to the left and at that point you can see the huts and blue roofed building of the fish park. Don't turn but continue straight ahead for 75 meters to an open gate on the left... turn in and you're there.

It's even easier coming back, just ask Larry and he'll explain. :-"

The park is NOT open as yet... opening date will be 1 April. I just went to visit with my friend, the owner. By the way, this is NOT one of those catch and release type fish parks. You can KEEP your catch and they will even cook it for you on site, or you can take it home. In total it is a large fish farm but the fishing will be limited to the 5 ponds surrounding the fish-park facility. Fish are mostly tilapia with some snake-fish also. They plan to introduce catfish in the near future. =D>

rick wrote:Well, do not want to put you off, but many small traditional tilapia ponds use chicken/duck manure to feed the fish and fertilise the water. It's just chemistry, not really different to using manure for your veggies.

Well Rick, until you've been there, I don't feel you should cast aspersions on this facility. [-X I also don't know what you consider 'small traditional tilapia ponds'. This farm consists of 12 good size ponds and they have (and still do) provided fish to local markets for years. Quite possibly the same tilapia we see at NM all salted and sitting on the BBQ. While I was there I saw the owner collecting a sack full of 30 kilo worth of fresh fish to be delivered to the local Wat - not from the same pond(s) that will be used for the fish-park by the way. My friend there commented that they go through one of these 50 kilo sacks of feed every day, providing food for the fish.

Personally, I'm looking forward to opening day. \:D/

The housing estate shown on the map due west of this place must be First Homes? If so, it shouldn't be too hard to find.

Also looking forward to some fishing out there. 8)

Chok dee to the owners.
