I also don't know what you consider 'small traditional tilapia ponds'. This farm consists of 12 good size ponds and they have (and still do) provided fish to local markets for years. Quite possibly the same tilapia we see at NM all salted and sitting on the BBQ. While I was there I saw the owner collecting a sack full of 30 kilo worth of fresh fish to be delivered to the local Wat - not from the same pond(s) that will be used for the fish-park by the way. My friend there commented that they go through one of these 50 kilo sacks of feed every day, providing food for the fish.
