Baz,Should'nt be ANY Problem,BUT Tell what I do ( And you get a better rate for 50's ) IF your going into Bangkok for a night or two when you arrive,There is "A Chinese Travel Agent /Licensed Money Changer on the corner of Sukumvit Rd.and Soi 7/1 and NORMALLY Gives approx 80 satang MORE per 1 gbp than the banks,I Mean IF your talking about say 2000 gbp YOU Will get about 1600 Baht MORE,Than you will get at the bank.....That's YOUR Airfare to Udon,Mate...NOT to be sniffed at these days....

Is it possible to open a Thai bank account and deposit your cash in it when you arrive in country? That might be safer.

Or is that what you do already?

Stokiebaz, seeing that you will find that large notes whether it be 50 pounds,100 dollar bills or 50 euro will always attract a less favourable exchange rate than the smaller denominations,to save losing out, best bring 20's or 10's over.
But remember if needing to do a visa run at Nong Khai, bring some small denomination US Dollars with you. 8)

Pompui,& Stokiebaz..... The 50.00 Notes Attract a BETTER exchange rate if Baz goes to the Money Changer I recomended.FOR 20's & 10's HE will get a LOWER rate....BTW ALL the banks give the SAME rate of exchange to the pound,be they 50's,20's 10's OR EVEN Fivers !! THEY DO give different rates on the US Dollar though,BUT Again the higher denomonation the HIGHER the rate GIVEN.....And on YOURE 2nd point,I recently did the trip across the Bridge and only had a 100 Dollar note, The Lao's CHANGED it NO Problems..& NO Comments Plus gave my change 65 $ in ALL NEW Dollar notes :? :?

Thanks for that 747man,my mind has become a tad confused in this heatwave.Stokiebaz bring a wad of 50's over and enjoy your next holiday here.Suprised there are so many 50's available in Blackpool or is it Stoke supporters claim they are the poorest supporters in the land but secretly are rich northern barstewards 8)
