46 lbs,21 kilos loss at this point!Took the day off today ate a couple of doughnuts and no morning or afternoon workout.

Will see how that translates tomorrow and the next few days!

Might be having a bit of a mental letdown as I decided to sleepin and pass on the morning jogging/fast walk workout, then bought and ate the doughnuts for breakfast, felt some excess stomach acid in the afternoon and decided to take the first full day off!

As the weight loss has slown down and I have reached a weight that is comfortable,it is harder to maintain the motivation to push on to the secondary goal of breaking the 100 kilo barrier!

I think the fact that I used to workout extensively everyday in Bangkok w/o success in breaking that number is whittling away at my resolve also !

That is impressive? like walking around with a big rucksack and then losing all that weight? Even
thinking about going to the gym takes me a stiff cup of coffee and a couple tylenol  the diet
is definitely a big part of it. and of course we'll want to see all the before and after pictures.

Today is a GREAT day!50 lb loss registered on the scale after my morning workout!

I am especially happy this morning as yesterday was a very difficult day!!!

I ate 1/2 a pineapple(sugar fix) after eating 3 deep fried doughballs I bought for my daughter and her friend that stayed over because of the storm the night before(they didn't eat them all and the temptation was to strong  ),starting feeling ''lazy'' and weary, decided to take the day off from my 1 1/2 hour cardio workout in the afternoon, took the dog for a bike ride in the ''hot'' afternoon and had an ice cream cone!!!!!!!

Watched the ''Biggest Loser'' on TV from 6-7 PM,got motivated and went to the Rimkong promenade!I put in a gruelling 1 hour workout running about 60-70% of the time, came home weary, but feeling alot better.Slept great,up at 5 and back to the Rimkong this morning!

Of course ,I weighted myself right after my workout and before ''hydrating'' and eating   ,but to see the scale hit 103.7 was fantastic, almost 23 kilo loss since my high weight of 126.4 on Feb 10th and 125 on Feb 15th,my 70th B/D \:D/ \:D/

My home scale and the gym scale(same type)are almost 2 Kilos lighter, but I faithfully use the electronic scale that I weighted the 126.4 on!
50 lbs.,50 lbs.,50 lbs.,feels great and i feel like a little kid \:D/ \:D/ \:D/

It is hard to keep pushing as the weight drop gets harder and the sabotage card seems to pop up more and more.I still look fat to me,but my flat feet are so much happier now and I am amazed that I stay busy all day rather than taking naps, reading and watching TV all the time! \:D/ I think I am feeling the energy level that I had when I first came to Thailand, but a different ''focus''

Thanks all,for the support!!! =D> =D> =D>

Now,I will have to make it through another NM get together Saturday! Will it be ACV and Water again? We will see

Congratulations Stan, you have shown true determination to achieve your goals, an inspiration to all of us :D now if you had done it the right way by going on "The Biggest Loser" you might have won yourself a holiday in Hawaii for your efforts :D

  Thanks for the strokes! Those people do it in 13 weeks,I have been at 16 weeks and I don't do well with people in my face

There was a guy on there, in the last series program, that the trainer tried to push when his ankle was hurting, she didn't want to hear it and he would not do more than he felt was safe for his body. The other members thought he was ''slacking'' and I thought so too,the teamates voted him off. When the prize money was awarded to the person with the biggest percentage weight loss.he came back on won the $100k for the biggest percentage weight loss in the consolation weighoff,if he could have stayed on the show to the last three,he would have won the $250K

I have a bad back on the flatest feet the military doc had ever seen when I got discharged :D (he asked me how I got in,this was after 4 years I was getting out  )!I know my body, after all the failures from the advice of doctors,Chiros and Physical therapists and I wouldn't do some of the exercises tasks that those trainers insist on!

Still at it!Had a setback the weekend of the NM get together. On Friday after my morning run,I was helping the wife and neighbors clear the weeds and trash on our short Soi after the heavy rain had temporarily flooded it,washing alot of trash down our Soi.

Anyway ,I tweaked my lower back for the first time in a long time.I was really worried that I might have to take a train to Bangkok for some Chiro work, but I didn't suffer the sublaxation that I thought might be happening as I took it easy for the entire weekend ,no workouts, just stayed at home and relaxed.

Monday morning ,I decided to start up again.Weighed myself before working out and discovered I had gained 2.4 Kilos and was back up to 106.2 Kilos!

Well, got back into my ''routine'' of 2 a day workouts and watching my diet.Happy to report that after my afternoon workout today,I saw 101.8 on the scale!First time under 102 in 10 years !

Of course that is not my leveling off weight after replenished lost liquids, which will be tomorrow mornings weighin.I am guessing I will be at about 102.5 before my morning run which will still be almost a 4 Kilo drop for the week.

Hopeful of breaking the 100 barrier this coming weekend,if not before!

I'm still excited and feeling GREAT!

I have noticed my food portions are diminishing also.I find that I notice quickly when I am feeling full and stop eating!Something that has always been difficult for me in the past!Still haunted by ice cream and sweets desires though

Well,I broke the 100 Kilo barrier yesterday!!!Fully clothed, weighed out at 99.2 Kilos, promptly had an ice cream cone to celebrate   60 pounds weight drop and feeling much better!

I worked out extremely hard this week as I enjoyed my first beers last Sunday, on my wifes birthday, since I started this quest !Of course the resturant meal didn't fit my ''diet program'' either!

I will continue my exercise program ,but will increase my strength training and cut back on the cardio some as I have accumulated alot of ''hanging or drooping skin''.Will continue to eat my home meals w/o fried in oil,MSG,salt and sugar added.

I have developed a taste for the ACV/water mix,so I will continue having that in the frig.

Plan on enjoying some bers next Sat. nite at the NM get together

  It ain't easy ''staying skinny'' Went to bangkok for 4 days to visit a sick Thai friend and his family. No workouts, the neighborhood kept feeding us almost continiously, plus I found 7-11 had my favorite ''Magnum Almond Ice Cream'' bar at buy 1 get 1 free.Everyone remebered me in the neighborhood buying 2-3 of these everyday at 20 baht each ,but they discontinued selling them in the local neighborhood store after I moved over 10 years ago! They now cost 40 baht ,but with the ''deal'',the locals reminded me that I could buy them at the old price :yikes:  The seed was planted, the first 2 were a gift, the last 10 were my addiction ruling:roll:

Anyway made back to NK with a 3 Kilo gain and promptly decided to get those 3 Kilos off,so I dove in to my 2 a day workouts again!Problem is that one of my weigh stations(electronic scale)is the 7-11 store!

You guessed it!10 more bars this week, plus shopping at Tesco ,I bought Peanut butter(1/2 gone already)and a bag of croissants(gone the first day) #-o

Had planned to make this months ''NM get together'' and have a few beers with the group.Spent 3 hours at Fuzzy Kens with my dog ,checking out books, while the wife and daughter went to the movies ,had 2 cheeseburgers with fries and 3 beers,so by the time I got to the NM I had my fill of beer already!

This morning ,I hit the scale at 7-11 at 103.5 Kilos, didn't buy any ''Magnum bars''(but the thought was there!),hopeful to get back on track, but it aint' easy :D .

One thing I noticed this morning was that after my 45 minutes of ''hard''running,I only sweated off .3 Kilos versus my .5-.7 kilo drops before This last week!I was really surprized and I am wondering if the diet changes affected the ''sweatoff''????

I was sorely reminded of the difficulty with diet problems when I saw on ''Ophray''The winner of the ''Biggest Loser Program'',put most of his weight back on.(works in a Deli).Almost 100 Kilos :yikes:

I would be happy if I could maintain my present weight, but I can't handle the extra 25+ Kilos!

Stan, sounds like you're on this diet I heard about a while ago:

The following diet is designed to help you cope with the stress that builds up during the holidays.
Breakfast:
- ½ grapefruit
- 1 slice whole wheat toast
- 8 oz. skim milk
Lunch:
- 4 oz. lean broiled chicken breast
- 1 cup steamed spinach
- 1 cup herb tea
- 1 Oreo cookie
Mid-Afternoon snack:
- The rest of Oreos in the package
- 2 pints Rocky Road ice cream nuts, cherries and whipped cream and 1 jar hot fudge sauce
Dinner:
- 2 loaves garlic bread
- 4 cans or 1 large pitcher Coke
- 1 large sausage, mushroom and cheese pizza
- 3 Snickers bars
Late Evening News:
- Entire frozen Sara Lee cheesecake (eaten directly from freezer)
RULES FOR THIS DIET:
1. If you eat something and no one sees you eat it, it has no calories.
2. If you drink a diet soda with a candy bar, the calories in the candy bar are canceled out by the diet soda.
3. When you eat with someone else, calories don't count if you do not eat more than they do.
4. Food used for medicinal purposes NEVER count, such as hot chocolate, brandy, toast and Sara Lee Cheesecake.
5. If you fatten up everyone else around you, then you look thinner.
6. Movie related foods do not have additional calories because they are part of the entertainment package and not part of one's personal fuel. Examples: Milk Duds, buttered popcorn, Junior Mints, Red Hots and Tootsie Rolls.
7. Cookie pieces contain no calories. The process of breaking causes calorie leakage.
8. Things licked off knives and spoons have no calories if you are in the process of preparing something.
9. Foods that have the same color have the same number of calories. Examples are: spinach and pistachio ice cream; mushrooms and mashed potatoes.
10. Chocolate is a universal color and may be substituted for any other food color.
11. Anything consumed while standing has no calories. This due to gravity and the density of the caloric mass.
12. Anything consumed from someone else's plate has no calories since the calories rightfully belong to the other person and will cling to his/her plate. (We ALL know how calories like to cling!)

REMEMBER: STRESSED SPELLED BACKWARDS IS DESSERTS

The second day of a diet is always easier than the first. By the second day you're off it. --Jackie Gleason

     My mind can relate

Actually my ''diet'' has been to eat most everything my wife cooks ,only in moderation(smaller portions),reduced use of oils, sugar, salt etc.

I admit to being addicted to sweets,so we eliminate buying them or I buy individual servings for the family that they consume immediately!Having ice cream, peanut butter, breads, cheese and pastries around the house are a NO NO!!

Stan, don't forget that the more Muscle you put on, the less weight you can take off. In other words, the better you get, the less you see on the scales :( I'm 84 kg now, the heaviest I've ever been, but I've been lazy which has to change. Keep going mate, but don't put too high an expectation on yourself =D>

 Thanks Aardvark, but what I am seeing now is alot of soft flabby skin, not muscle, although I am sure there has been some ''toning up'' of some muscles, building muscle is not very easy at my age and I don't want to incapacitate myself by lifting very heavy weights!

I have been doing approx. 2 hours of intense seeating cardio or more, everyday, and 30+ minutes of medium weights at a pace to keep the sweat rolling!

I planned on cutting my cardio down by at least 30 minutes and increase my weight training by 30 min, slightly increasing the weight at a slower pace to build muscle and strength!

My real goal is to keep the weight off at least to present levels,so that my flat feet are not so overwhemed, causing me to reduce my activities to a veggie depressing state that I have recently was in!

I appreciate all the support! :D :D

Just an update!I am very happy because for the last two weeks ,I have been able to eat lots of ''goodies and still keep my weight around 100 kilos.I have fluctuated between 97 -103 kilos depending on what and how much I eat and drink!

I have found that alcohol and packaged ''chips'' seem to be the hardest on my body and my weight loss!Ice cream and donuts have the least negative effect!

It is amazing how I can feel the physical changes within my body from the chips and alcohol also. The joints ache more,my body feels sluggish and more wornout and it is more difficult to run for any length of time for a couple of days!

I have found that my workout regimen can be more relaxed now, taking days off as I feel like it,although I am very aware the it doesn't take much to slip in the ''discipline'' area!I still hit the scale everyday,100.5 this morning,no workout ,but will go to the gym after lunch!

It is great, not packing the extra 25-30 kilos around,my feet are very happy and I am keeping busy instead of lying down, reading and sleeping so much! :D
