Show me a true Independent moderate who is a fiscal conservative and who cares more for the higher interests of the USA as a whole over partisan politics.. Of course, to find somebody who could actually win, it probably would have to be an independently wealthy ( a la' Ross Perot) individual. If someone of high caliber were to run and appeal to the overwhelming majority of Americans who are indeed middle of the road moderates, he (or she I reckon) might win. A candidate of this sort might also be able provide "coattails" to other members of a new Independent moderate political party to get Congressional seats. If even 10-15% of the Congressional seats went over to a true "new" political party it would usher in a totally new way of politics within the States.. Congress would ulitmately have to form coalitions with the new party that would make things look positively Parliamentary.. As it stands today the old political dinosaurs in both parties tend to control things and be able to crowd out any candidate they don't want by not providing the national party financing necessary to win. That's changing a bit as evidenced by the recent Scott Brown win in Mass, but overall, the old guard on both sides contols things quite tightly..
Frazee...I like the way you think and let me try to add my take to your suggestions...With the new Supreme Court ruling that corporations can spend any amount they want to support a candidate,...I think it makes sense for this Peoples Third Party to meet with Google, Microsoft, Berkshire Hathaway, Exxon and a few others and, by offering certain concessions to this corporations, I think we could fund the third party candidate...
This appears to be the way American politics is headed..
