It is a 72-hole stroke play with no cut; the field comprises the top 50 available players from the LPGA Tour's Official Money List plus 10 sponsor invitees (including England's Laura Davies).
The defending champion Lorena Ochoa (the world no 1) is returning to defend her title
Due to the economic climate, the prize money has been slightly reduced from 1.45 to 1.30 million USD.
I have been to all of the previous LPGA tournaments held in Thailand and would recommend them to any amateur golfer wishing to improve their game (Peter Alliss has long recommended that nearly all amateur men players could learn more to improve their game by watching the top ladies rather than the top men).
