I was very privileged today to watch the fish re-stocking at Sabai Sabai. The quality and size of the fish that have been introduced is staggering. I have watched several species with weights exceeding the norm - the largest of which is a Mekong giant catfish that was estimated to be at a minimum - yes, 80kgs!! Don't believe it?? Pictures attached that haven't been messed around with in Photoshop!! Add to this many pla jaramet (pacu) over 5 kgs and up to 15 kgs, lots of pla sawai (striped catfish) from 5 - 18kgs, snakeheads, featherbacks, pla duk and the rare pla kow - this adds up to an input of stock probably not seen before in a fishing park in Udon - certainly as far as I am aware the Mekong giant cat is the largest available in Udon in a commercial fishing park. When the venue re-opens this Saturday come prepared with heavy tackle and strong arms!!

I hope this injection of top quality size and fish will bring our customers old and new back in there droves after our mini shutdown. The cost of these fish were very expensive but as always we try to prove the best fishing anywhere in Udon, Quality food and good service at a reasonable cost and excellent facilities at a fraction of the cost of fishing parks in the US, Uk etc. I would like customers also to be advised that I have finished the promotion for free fishing if you spend over 300 baht, please remember that when you go to th cimema you dont get to watch the movie free if you drink and eat, same rules apply when you go golfing. Finally we have somethings ordered that wont be here in time for re-opening but will be here as soon as possible, these include more umbrellas, A tent over the childrens Park etc.

Please note a Change in Rules, Due to the size, quality and our desire not to kill the fish we will are now only allowing single hook fishing, which is in line with many other fishing Park rules. To the less experienced I have fished nearly 40 years with a fly about 5-7mm long and have landed some truely memorable fish!!! Multi hooks dont really improve your chances of catching the fish just not losing them! If not sure best way to not lose a fish just ask!

Finally we now have on sale Sabai Sabai T-Shirts which are very good Quality with screen print of Siamese Carp and Reasonably Priced at 150 baht

Tightlines to Everyone

Considering the size of the fish and the one hook rule I was thinking of bringing this tackle along -

Would this be acceptable?

I can imagine that after being hooked half a dozen times, and knowing they will be chucked back after being landed, the fish just learn to swim straight to shore. :D

Old Timer,

I like the way your thinking!!! but sorry this doesnt count under the one hook system :D

Jackspratt

Maybe!! but this fish is 23 years old it didnt get to that age without learning whats good to eat along the way :-k Personnally I think he/she is going to be hard to catch and near impossible to land unless you use a winch and pick up truck :D

We have now opened again but I have introduced new rules, the important ones being

Single hook Only

Fish over 6 kilos must be returned

We aim to be the premier spot for fishing in Udon, Ultimely we are phasing out Panine in the big pond and will just have good sized various species to catch (Now 20 kinds are stocked)

Panine are available to fish in the middle pond (up to 3 kilo) to take home
